That really puts the Colts in a k-hole. Ehh, we are slowly dieing out. We lost Doss, Stokley, Cato June, now Tarik..

I think it is okay to lose players, it just sucks for them that their options are limited in replacing him.

There will soon be a new age in offensive lineman. Pace, Glenn, Ogden, Shields, Roaf all of these big name OL will either be retiring soon, or have already retired. Thats why I'm kind of excited about the way Baltimore has rebuilt their line and is full of youth and depth.

That is what the Eagles have done. You can't just throw five new guys out there, you have to be slow with it. That is what the Eagles have done. Looking down the road, we are going to have a great line anchored by Shawn Andrews.

I agree, look at the New England Patriots for example. Just like many other things they have done successful, they did a great job of setting up their O-Line with the NFL Draft. As for the Ravens, we have Chris Chester who is very versatile, rookie Ben Grubbs, Jason Brown who had been an absolute surprise last year, Adam Terry, and more rookies Jared Gaither, and Marshall Yanda. Thats six guys right there who I believe are very talented and could become great lineman, that have under three years or at three years experience. You add in the veteran presence they had the opportunity to learn under (Ogden, Flynn) and last year Edwin Mulitalo, and these guys have a bright future.
Not to mention this is the same offensive line who gave up just 17 sacks, and thats with the loss of two starters and Jonathan Ogden missing a few games. Now with the addition of Willis McGahee I believe the line will not only be successful in pass protection, but run blocking as well.

I am hoping the Eagles commit more to the run. They have some huge guys on that line now. The guards are successful there but can also play tackle well. We are grooming the next blindside tackle easily with Tra Thomas still producing. Max Jean-Gilles has huge potential at guard if a new right tackle doesn't amount. The thing is Todd Herremans is also a good tackle. I just get tickled in a perfect way when I talk about the potential of the Eagles offensive line.
The problem for the Colts is that the guy they had to set up to take over for Tarrik is not ready. They just drafted the kid this year I think. Maybe we will see the Colts attempt to make a crazy trade to pick somebody up.

Well, I cant exactly say its their fault. Tarik was only 31 years old (I think) and thats still in your prime for an offensive lineman. The average age for a retiring O-Lineman is usually around 35-38 IMO. Especially for a guy who has been as healthy as himself.
Then again, the NFL is all about depth and how you handle your roster.

Consistent roster management always shows. They are the perennial contenders in the league. I think it is going to be interesting on how they address the need. Although, they may be able to try and talk him out of it. Look at Junior Seau.

I say he does retire and goes out a superbowl champion. Another problem with this need at tackle is number one your quarterback is the most important player on the team and isnt mobile by any means, number two you must quickly get used to Manning's constant audibles and the way the Colts offense is ran.
Remember, this team has also been one of the leagues best in going without false start penalties also. Alot of the credit for that went to Glenn, along with the credit of his run blocking and pass protection of Manning. During the playoff game I think we got to Manning once (The Ravens). Thats extremely impressive on the road against a team who outsacked their opponents 60-17.

I didn't even take the audibles into account. It is so nice that they are screwed.

Yeah you aint the only one! I cant wait until our playoff rematch in December and know Rex is going to try and utilize their new problem with the offensive line. I already promised myself I'm going no matter what the cost, especially after being at the playoff game and experiencing that loss.

That will be a game to be at. I was so close to scoring tickets to the Eagles/Falcons championship game. This lady my mom worked with was going to give them to us. The stupid slut gave them to her brother who didn't even to go the game. Totally go though man, it will be amazing.

Hell, the playoff game was amazing. Everybody was so pumped before and throughout the whole game. But I dont think I've ever been in anything louder when Ray Lewis came out for the game, it was crazy. I'm actually making the trip up to Westminster on Sunday to catch the first day of training camp also.
That sucks about the NFC Champ. tickets. Maybe you'll get some this season?

That should be cool. I love the players like that, the ones that bring the house down with their entrance. When I went to Cowboys/Eagles in '05, the crowd went crazy for Dawkins. Also for when Chad Lewis caught a pass, the crowd would erupt. We are in debt to that man for his contributions in the '04 NFC Championship game. The thing that sucks now is most stadiums are so open the sound is cut down. The Vet would get amazingly loud when the fans started going.

Yeah, I know. I was just thinking about the Eagles and who would probably get everybody the most hyped up, and Dawkins and McNabb were the first two to come to mind. I dont think M&T Bank Stadium gets enough credit for how loud it gets in there, every game I've been to the crowd never stops and everybody stays pumped because of the intensity and level our defense plays at. I was going to try and catch the New England/Adalius Thomas return but its back-to-back weeks with the Indy game, and both are night games!
I rather see the rematch of Indy and get some revenge, but I am gonna miss Adalius on our defense. Though I will say right now that Antwan Barnes could be an AD in the making, just give him some time.

Adalius is a great player. I've been following him for the past couple of years.
The defense though, if that is going, the crowd stays pumped. What is better then a weak receiver getting jacked over the middle in the cold of night?

It was just annoying against the Colts because you get so loud, yet it actually doesnt help your defense too much neither because they are trying to hear the calls Peyton makes at the line. Especially the Ravens, because as Peyton makes changes, Ray Lewis will command right back at the defense and make switches.

I have a feeling the Colts administration saw this coming. The trade that netted us Ugoh in the draft perplexed a lot of fans because we drafted at a position where we had such a solid player, and even though he's just a rookie, he helps soften that blow. Losing Glenn also gives us almost $5 million more cap space.
The offense is too powerful for this to hurt too much, especially with Gonzales in the slot. Roy Hall could end up being a steal. I am curious to see how Addai handles more carries, and who will step into the primary backup role.

IMO they were planning for Glenn's exit as a UFA next year not his retirement this year. With Ugoh in their I expect Manning to find himself face down a couple more times than normal this year.
