I agree with DB here. I mean its only been two games, and week one was basically a gimme against Oakland. This week had nothing to do with the Lions offense, Tarvaris Jackson basically handed this one to Detroit with his 4 interceptions.
Not to mention their passing offense wasn't too shabby last year with Calvin with two 1,000 yard receivers. Now they have Shaun McDonald, who shall I say is doing just as good as Calvin and a consistant Roy Williams, who is doing better than Calvin. Add in Mike Furrey and I'd have to say the Lions aren't 2-0 because of Calvin Johnson.
He's not in college anymore, one player doesn't make or break an NFL team and never should.

I understand your point, I was just clearing that I don't feel he's the reason they are 2-0. Also, yeah I feel that a team who has lost eleven straight is certainly a gimme. I'm not too high on Denver right now either, so that doesn't say much as to Oakland being such a competitive team. They struggled last week against Buffalo too, are they a good team? The Raiders would be 0-2 with Calvin Johnson, too. Looks who's throwing the football! Josh McCown! The guy was a backup in Detroit...

Leak, you took me so far inside, I don't think I can make it back out. I feel trapped in an infinite warp of NFL time-travel... soon you'll be busting out Herman Moore or something, and I'll just lose it...

LOL, Chad Johnson jumped into the Dawg Pound section of the Browns stadium and had people hitting him and throwing beer on him. I love Chad's celebrations ;D And more importantly, he didn't attack anyone. I hope Ron Artest is watching. LOL, Ron's situation was totally different. 1) Chad brough that on himself by jumping into the Dawg Pound. 2) He was wearing a helmet. Way to go Texans! The season is matching up with my dynasty.

The NFC South should not be allowed a playoff team. Agreed. The best team in the division may be Tampa for the love of all that is unholy! New Orleans is back to normal (playing like ass), Atlanta is a walking disaster (at least they play some defense), Carolina got smashed by the freaking Texans, and well Tampa at least won big. It's looking like another long season of watching Saints football. Probably what makes last season so special, watching us lose for five years, anything good makes me happy.

With all the hype the saints were getting to start the year, people seemed to forget that they finished 10-6, not 13-3 or anything like that. They really aren't that good. Atlanta might only win one or two games, Carolina is just schizo, and can Tampa really be good? They don't have anybody.

I felt the Saints were probably a 10-6 team this year, simply due to the weak division. The lack of offense is troubling to say the least, because that is what bailed us out last year. Tampa has nothing I agree, and Carolina would run away with this thing if they didn't seem to have Jekyll/Hyde thing going on. The problem is, I wonder if Carolina won't be Hyde one too many times this year.

If Cadillac gets healthy and has a breakout year, the Bucs do have a chance to win the division. They also need a good wr to lineup with Joey Galloway.

McGahee, I try man, I try. Seriously though, I fully understand what David was saying after all these are all a series of opinions anyway, and he is a Tech fan and I can't blame him for pulling for Calvin. Hell, I noticed DeShawn Wynn got two TDs today for the Packers and watched Marcus Thomas get an interception for Denver and was happy. Also, you know Herman Moore did catch 123 balls one year and I believe used to hold the mark for receptions in a season until Marvin broke it Now to Bama, I wouldn't worry just yet. Like a few have already stated the NFC South is very weak, and this offense is too talented to struggle all season. A win next Monday (my birthday btw) against Tennessee, and a much needed early bye on week four could be all you guys need to turn it around. That could prepare you for future games against Carolina (big one) and Seattle the following weeks. I wouldn't exactly hate on the Texans this year neither, Matt Schaub looked excellent today against Carolina. New Orleans biggest issue though this year will obviously be their secondary. Reggie Wayne, and Joey Galloway as our prime examples. If this continues how in the hell are they going to stop Steve Smith and beat he team who I say gives them the toughest run for the division?

Well Leak the lack of offense is my biggest concern. The offensive line seems...off so far. That's the biggest reason for the lack of success, Drew can't go deep, he doesn't have the time. It's not that he's a big deep threat QB, but if helps keep the defense honest. Then we can work it short with more success and get the run game going with draws and the like. The o-line gets it together, the WRs and everyone will get the timing down better and the offense I think will gel a bit. The big question is, does that happen next week or when it is too late?
I figure we'll just have to outscore the Panthers, that's the only solution I see. Just double team Smith and hope for the best I guess. It's just that our DBs lack talent. Roman Harper is more of a LB/S hybrid to me. Lots of tackles (14, second on the team) but not that great in coverage. That's how he played at Bama. McKenzie is really the only NFL caliber CB on the team. Look who did the most damage against NO, the guys covered by David. There's a reason for that.
The Saints are only one game out, which is the biggest point Bobby Hebert had on the post game show today (other than we suck). At least I have faith things will get better, I haven't gave up on a good season yet.

Do not give up on the Saints yet. I still have a big feeling inside me that they are not done yet. Im not just saying that because I am a Saints fan either. We have played like crap the last two weeks and thats no where near who we are. Reggie is running east and west non-stop, Duece can't hold onto the ball, and offensive line is playing worse than Alabama's.
Drew Brees is also off to a cold start. He wasn't that great today, but don't put it all on his shoulders. I really thought this offensive line was better than what they are playing like. Also you have to remember, it was 100+ degrees out there today and the Saints just are not used to that. They are used to there 70 degree dome. Although, I know thats no where near an excuse.
I still think the Saints squeeze at least 9-10 wins out this year. All they need is just one game to turn things around and it will be all good. And how can you say the Saints arn't that great. Sure we are playing like crap right now, but with the weapons we have on offense, it's hard to say were not that great.
But oh well, it was an okay weekend with Auburn and Tennesse losing, and Bama won although they almost blew a huge lead.

The problem is, I wonder if Carolina won't be Hyde one too many times this year. The worst part is that Delhomme always ends up with really good numbers thanks to smith and falling behind early so people think he's good. But he really isnt. And the defense is pretty awful in the secondary, so peppers has to drop back in middle field zone coverage and there is no pass rush. I still see the saints winning it though for some reason.

Well the front office doesn't help him considering our no. 2 receiver Kerry Colbert is nothing better than a no. 4 for anybody else.

I don't know what the hell Jarrett is doing. He's not even active.
Memo: Never draft USC receivers.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. Why in the hell was Dwayne Jarrett not activated these first two games? Your also not the only playoff team that's winless right now, Bama. Currently four teams who made the playoffs last year are 0-2. That's a third of the teams who made it to the postseason. Then, you look at who's ahead in the NFC, you also can't be worried. Those four NFC 2-0 teams are Detroit, Green Bay, San Francisco, and Dallas.
It's just way too early, and I feel the Saints are still in good shape. They just need to get a win over Tennessee this week and come into that bye with a win on their record to look back at.

Well, Jarrett did have a hamstring injury in camp, so they may just be trying to protect the kid, but I don't agree with it.
Davidson completely forgot about Smith when the Texans started to score. For us to win, Smith needs 10-15 touches in any way possible.
