I've heard everything from Curry for Ariza and a first rounder to the Marbury deal... Horrible trade either way for New York, especially after dumping a ton of money on Jerome James' lap already.

Well, it's been official since about 11 PM last night.
Eddy Curry and Antonio Davis for Tim Thomas, Mike Sweetney, Jermaine Jackson, and three picks. Davis is expected to be released, upon which time he'll re-sign with Chicago.

Why do teams trade for players, then fire them. Then that player goes back to there regular team and re-signs...seems VERY stupid.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
"then fire them"
that's dumb
But really, adding Davis was just to even salaries to make the deal work. Knicks didn't want him, he was just necessary.

Folks, Eddy Curry will not be a New York Knickerbocker. ESPN 1000 in Chicago is reporting Curry failed his mandatory physical, and as a result, the trade that sent Tim Thomas and Mike Sweetney to Chicago will be voided.
More importantly, this means Eddy won't be playing at all.
EDIT: He passed. Wow.

The NBA requires that all trades have balanced salaries to avoid messy cap situations since NBA contracts are gaurenteed. The loophole is that teams can release those players added to balance out salaries right away...it happens a lot to guys like Antonio Davis who are way too old to be making the kind of money they do.

Curry passed the physical. Deal done. Here's a question aimed at whoever can answer it: Who's expected to start at center now that both Curry and Jerome James are in town?

I figure if Curry is proven to be healthy, it's got to be Curry, but I'm not exactly a reliable source here.

I would take curry and day Even Curry on a day where his health is in serious question? He's the one player you can't bank on with that kind of saying. Granted, healthy Curry> James any day

It's probably going to be James at center, Curry at power forward. Larry Brown isn't going to start Channing Frye, that's for sure.

Well Alex, I don't know- Channing is pretty raw.
I can see this go down
C- Curry F- Frye F- Richardson G- Crawford G- Marbury
But that's just me. Maybe ur theory is right, Alex.

Larry Brown won't start a rookie. He almost never has.

Well I think Chicago definitely got the better end of this deal. Mike Sweetney is a good player and will be a good starting power forward. Nevertheless, the Bulls will come back down to earth and only win about 40 games this year and fight for the #8 spot. But no matter who the players were they weren't going to win 47 games again.

That may just be your biased view though... if Curry is healthy and can put up a 18/10+ season, New York may be able to get in the playoffs. Sweetney isn't really going to help too much in Chicago's playoff chances.
