^^^Look who's talking.
Not realistic - never heard of anyone you traded and I've heard of both the guys you acquired.

I know, let your guys play a little more. I played nearly a month beforing trading a guy. I mean look at the majors and guys like Brian Roberts...nobody expected him to do so well, but the way you're going you might have traded him away already.

Try playing a season and not trading anyone. I hate doing transactions for some reason.

A couple simple rules for making some realistic trades:
1. Limit the amount of transactions you make. The most deals are made during the offseason and in the weeks preceeding the trading deadline. Teams just don't make a trade the day after Opening Day. If they wanted a certain player, they would have gotten that guy well before Spring Training, not a week into the season. Blockbuster trades also are pretty rare. One, maybe two around the trading deadline, and another two or three during the offseason. The rest of the deals are for more of everyday, role players, and even those don't happen often.
2. Rarely, if ever, do you see a major trade go down between division rivals. No team is going to give up a player to a team that they may very well be battling for the division title with during the last month of the season. It would be like a Notre Dame football player transfering to Michigan or Coach K suddenly being named the coach of UNC.
3. Both age and salary matter in baseball. You aren't going to trade an over the hill veteran for another team's up and coming superstar. Just because they are minor leaguers or rookies doesn't make them fair game. Felix Hernandez is supposed to be the next big thing for Seattle in case you don't know. And rarely will you see a team taking on huge payroll unless they are doing it to get a big name superstar (and even then, it's normaly the team trading the player that shoulders much of the salary)
4. Look for what a team needs. Don't give the Reds an outfielder. Don't give the Cubs an ace pitcher. Don't give the Cardinals a corner infielder. Instead, give the Reds either starting or relief pitching strength or take an outfielder off their hands. Give the Cubs bullpen help. Give the Cardinals someone to replace an aging, often injured Larry Walker. (of course there are plenty of other things those teams could take...those are just examples)
5. Don't stockpile prospects. Teams don't want your aging superstar in exchange for their next big thing so you can overstock your minor leagues with the players of the future.
6. Teams with a realistic shot at making the playoffs are not going to start dumping good players in the middle of the season. Teams who are far out of it might. Look at a players contract. If he is in the first year of a 5 or 6 year deal, his club probably want him to stay so they can build around him.
Hopefully that helps. Of course, these aren't the "law." There are plenty other things to think about, and many of these don't always hold true. Play the game how you want.
