As most of y'all know, I really don't talk/advertise much about my dynasties on the forum... but I just wanted to bring this up to see if anyone else had this.
So I had a pretty damn realistic season in my opinion with the exception of not being able to steal and not really having walks either way. I had a hot second half and pulled out the wild card, even with a collapse in my last two series after being hot.
So I figured to struggle in the playoffs. Sweeping the Mets didn't surprise me because I played well against them in the regular season. I assumed to face the Cardinals and lose in 5 or 6 in the NLDS. Well SF won games 3-5 vs St Louis to get to the NLDS. Using the original Feburary rosters, I expected to struggle a tad with Bonds and Snow, but I went through them in 4 also.
So now I'm playing the Yankees, and will play game 4 of the WS here in a few, and if the 10 game playoff winning streak says anything, I'll cap off a 162 game season in an 11 game playoff sweep.
As dumb as this might sound, I'm disappointed by this. One, it makes me kinda look like a tool sweeping through the playoffs... but what am I supposed to do, throw the games? I was kinda looking forward to being knocked out in the playoffs.... with my luck, since I'm discussing this before the 11th win, the Yankees will get revenge from last year and win games 4-7.
My pitching has been too good for the playoffs, using a 3 man rotation and essentially riding Roy Oswalt, who's thrown for 32 scoreless innings (except for the solo HR given up to ARod in the bottom of the 9th in game 1)... and Clemens and Pettitte with ERA's near or below 1.
MOST EA games seem to have always gotten tougher in the playoffs/bowls, just to create a little extra challenge. I'm not saying these games were easy though.... I've had games go 10, 13 and 14 innings just in the playoffs alone, along with a few other very close games. So the games are close, but I kinda don't like I've won ALL of them.
So like I said, I usually don't talk about my stuff on here, but I think it sucks that I've completed a 162 game season just above .500, and now I'm breezing right through the playoffs against decent teams.
