I personally find his writing to be a bit ... story-esque and complicated, especially in recaps. I learned that keeping it simple is best for both author and reader.

In the dynasty review, he did a pretty good job. Pretty easy to follow. I could be wrong though because everything in there was complimenting me.

Analysts and fans all came to the same configuration, of the Nationals fighting for bare life to even take a game off the well-defended lineup of the Atlanta Braves.

The first fragment has a lot of commas, yet they add no information. I'm trying to figure out how that could be a sentence, but I'm not seeing it. "Configuration" does not fit at all, and I think the expression is "fighting for dear life".

Anyway I would fix up the grammar, vocabulary, and content.
