I guess we're all obsessive if we're arguing over whos obsessive when we all check here everyday to talk sports. Who cares? If people want to hate the Yankees, let them.

Spartan's just sad he can't use the "I'm not worried, it's only April" excuse anymore. In other news, Joe Torre is bitching....he says the media speculation about his job is negatively influencing the team...boo hoo, Joe. Start winning games and you won't have to WORRY about the media speculation. Torre has had little managing to do the past few years, as his trillion dollar payroll team could always coast into the playoffs and then ride the "We can't win every year" excuse when they get eliminated in the playoffs. Now that he has a bunch of under-achieving over-paid egos in control of the team, he realizes he has to start re-taking control of the team like he had prior to 2001.

Honestly, I don't know how Torre or Brian Cashman have put up with Steinbrenner's bullshit over the years. He has a passion for winning, which I don't have a problem with, but it's the manner in which he goes about it that pisses people off. There comes a time when the spending becomes a little irrelevant - like when you have a payroll nearing the $150 million mark, and spending $20 mil more to get a guy like Roger Clemens, who is going to help you one of every five games. Whoever says he's there to win a championship is full of it. He's there for the money and nothing else.
Basically, it's the arrogance of Steinbrenner that rubs off on the fans - the whole "We deserve a championship because we're the Yankees" is bunk. I think when Georgie Boy moves on, baseball should breathe a HUGE sigh of relief.

Yankees don't catch ANY breaks. They had to face future-90-time NL Cy Young winner Josh Fogg, who entered the game with an impressive 0-3 record with a 6.66 ERA at Coors Field on baseball's best Colorado Rockies... and sucked miserably.
OMG IM TEH OBSESSIVE *CUTS WRISTS*

Honestly, I don't know how Torre or Brian Cashman have put up with Steinbrenner's bullshit over the years. Because he signs there paychecks.

Signing a paycheck doesn't have much to do with it other than the fact that they are Yankees employees and should have a say in the goings-on, which is something that Cashman and Torre (mainly Cashman) haven't had until recently with George's health problems.

Cashman has plenty of say and has done quite poorly with his say so maybe the decisions should be put in Steinbrenner's hands. And bearcat, my bad for being a Yankee fan and wanting something less than a championship...to be honest, who the hell wants anything less? It's not arrogance, its called being a true fan of the game, of your team. Should we stop going to the games and watching them on YES! because eh...we're over .500 and that's good enough for us? Pretty sure that would make us Royals fans.
Oh wait.

Oh snap, taking a shot at a Royals fan... where do you get the balls to call out one of such stature...
Loki, all you're doing is proving his point with the whole arrogance thing...

Pretty sure that would make us Royals fans. Oh wait. Thank you for doing exactly what I thought you Wankees fans would do - try and call me out and tell me my team sucks. So what? I don't need to be told that, I know that already. Royals fans are some of the better fans in baseball anyways...we've been through 20 years of hard times. We're optimistic every year, but sometimes it doesn't always work out. At least we wouldn't get pissed off at A-Rod for having a 40-120-.300 season just because he couldn't hit in the playoffs. It's a TEAM game, not a game where one individual makes the outcome. Look, I don't have a beef with you. I just hate your organization and what it stands for. It's run by a bunch of clowns.

Yankees lose, theeeeeeeee Yankees lose.
Ironic that they go to home run city, AKA Denver, and score a total of 2 runs in the first 2 games of their series.
