Didn't start anything apparently. They don't have anything real to say so they all said something childish. Nah, you just said it during the middle of a series against the Devil Rays. I mean, come on. You BETTER win a series against Tampa Bay. I'd make a comeback to that if you were actually playing someone good.

My saying that had nothing to do with our series with the D-Rays. I was only stating it now because people decided to start talking in this thread again because the Yanks were losing a game badly to them.

The Yankees are everyone's hateable winner (except for the those that are fans of the aformentioned)... so when they lose, those of us, who chant "Overrated" when A-rod/Jeter is up to bat, like to tell you about it

Chanting that at two players your owner and your fans dream to have makes sense...

Royals 7 - 0 Yankees
It's nice to be able to post in here again, tell your Yankees to do it more often.

I usually stay out of this thread for obvious reasons, but I just want to comment on Alex Rodriguez' possible free agency. The Red Sox said they would push to get A-Rod if he hit the market. Are they not just as bad as the Yankees now? Baseball is in dire need of a salary cap.

No one has anything to say when the Yankees go on a nice winning streak though but when they lose ONE game everyone's got something to say.

it's not the fact that they lost... it's the fact that the big bad Yankees got beat by the lowly Royals.... well I will say this, if New York ends getting the wild card, they could be dangerous because usually they dominate the regular season and suck in the playoffs... it could go the opposite this year

The difference between Boston and the Yankees is that Boston isn't as arrogant.

Baseball does need a salary cap. As long as their will be owners not willing to pay tons of money to win, baseball needs it. It is unfair to the fans that teams like Boston and New York will take the best players off of the market by giving them tons of money. I like the Yankees and can admit this. The Mets, Yankees, and Red Sox are all the same. They all pay tons of money to make their team. Black and white, it is the truth. EDIT: Not to mention if Roger Clemens came knocking, they would have signed him.

The Mets only started winning recently BECAUSE they started paying their players... however if you don't have the money, you have to do it withou farm systems.

Some teams can go out and buy the talent while others have to put time and effort into someone who can be a huge flop. That is why a salary cap is needed. Look at the Red Sox. They are winning with guys that didn't start in Boston. Curt Schilling, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Josh Beckett, etc. How is it fair for lower market teams in baseball? Look at the Devil Rays, they don't stand a shot in hell at winning because they can't compete with the high priced talent that teams like the Mets, Yankees, and Red Sox collect.
