I honestly don't see how any Tiger fan could be mad at this. You get one of the 4-5 best hitters in the league and a top flight pitcher with a proven track record for a couple of "can't-miss" prospects. Now, I don't know baseballs draft past, but guys like Tony Mandarich and Alexandre Daigle go to show that even the can't miss guys miss.

The long run is however long it takes Loria to die or sell the team.

Great trade by the Tigers.
Maybin really is not a big loss. The kid wanted to play CF in the majors and the Tigers already have a CF who is getting better and better by the name of Curtis Granderson.
Miller is almost the same. He is young yeah, but so is Willis. Willis has already proven himself and has more experience under his belt. The only thing I worry about with Willis is that he will struggle with the AL, seems like switching leagues always hurts.
I would like to see the Tigers succeed. They are one of my likable teams seems how I see them play every single year. I'm starting to get frustrated with the Yanks. If we trade any of our young pitchers like Hughes for Santana, I will be so pissed.

Another reason why baseball sucks. Let's see a Tom Brady for Brian Brohm trade before next season while we're at it...

Looks like the AL Central is going to be strong again next year.

They will probably sneak in like always. I know one team who won't be... the Orioles lol.

I think Cleveland's still good for 90 wins or so, and Boston'll be real good too, especially if they make a deal for Santana. Could be a wide open AL race next year.

I think the Yanks miss next year. That's my guess right now. We do have some up and coming pitchers that I am excited about and we may be able to sneak in to.

The Marlins confuse the shit out of me. Do they want to be the worst team in the MLB every year? Seriously...

I heard they were looking at a total payroll of around $8 million. I don't know if that's true, but if it is....That's absolutely incredible.

Their owner is a greedy bastard then and an idiot. You make more money with a payroll like the Yankees than a payroll like the Marlins. If they won some damn games and fielded a good team they'd bring in more fans and sell more merch.

Homer alert on Sportsline:
The AL has won four of the past six World Series and eight of the past 12. Since the All-Star winner has been awarded home-field advantage in the Series, the AL is 5-0. See you at the AL ballpark for Game 1 of the World Series next October.
Guess 2006 didn't count, eh Mr. Miller?

I think he's referring to 5-0 in the ASG, since in 03 the AL also lost the World Series to, coincidentally, Florida.
