Yeah they do get a lot of hype because of Sidney Crosby, player movement, and Gretzky coaching, but it just sucks that a lot of ppl will not be able to see it.

Yep 39mil, the devils are at that mark right now, without resigning Scott Stevens. Do they say goodbye to their captain of oh 10 years or so? Or do they drop someone so Stevens can play one more season?

I don't get OLN at school. Then again, I never watch the regular season for more than a random half hour here and there. I do watch the playoffs though. Will they be on OLN too?

Playoffs are gonna be split between OLN, Fox, and ESPN/ABC I believe.

why's that? It's the same sport it has always been, if anything it will be even more exciting and worth watching this season.

I donno i have always hated hockey, but when i need to see a fight i just turn it on for a bit, but with all this stuff swirling around the NHL it just wont be the same

I always have and will love hockey and I don't see how anyone who did like hockey wouldn't like it now. If you don't like a sport that's one thing, but the rule changes the NHL has made can only improve the game, and expand the fan database.
Here are just some of the rules/changes:
- Less obstruction
- Division rivals emphasized (more Montreal vs. Toronto/Philadephia vs. Pittsburgh)
- Smaller goalie pads = more goals
- Tag-up offside/no touch icing (if you don't understand these, it'll just speed up the flow)
- And of course....shootouts! I think that a shootout is one of the most exciting things in sports, and for the playoff, overtime marathon game fans, shootouts will not occur in the postseason, just in the regular season.
Hockey always was the one of the fastest games in the world, and it can only get faster, and more exciting.

ASM, hockey is the cleanest sport. The worst thing with the sport was the greedy players. Now that they had to sit for a season, they will know better. Also, touch up offsides is great. I have played hockey with that, without it, or no offsides at all. If you are going to have off-sides, touch up is the absolute best. Makes the game a lot better.

Speaking of the Devils, I might be going to a Flyers, Devils game in Philadelphia. I have it down to Devil, Red Wings vs. Flyers, or Sens vs. Flyers.
