By gangsta I seem to think you are implying like GTA:SA. There is a difference in connotation between the words gangster and ang gangsta.

Yeah, Liberty City ain't that bad of a city. I mean there are gangs, but compared to SA, Liberty's a playground.

GTA III is "gangster" as in Italian gangsters and whatnot. GTA: SA is "gangsta" as in black ghetto.
