Thank you for killing this great thread we've had going. Absolutely killed it...
And 7-2 baby... it's about time we got back on track. Gotta give credit to the Habs though. I definitely though they would have fallen off by now, but in my opinion, they're easily Top 3 in the conference...

Flyers are under the impression that they can improve this team with over the hill veterans and taking away youth.

I would just like to say that the Penguins are 0-28-1 when Crosby doesn't register a point...
And don't get me started with that thug Nichol... I guess he was just pissed because his team was getting raped in every aspect. He really is pretty lucky we're a forgiving team. If this happened in Philly, regardless of their sucky record, he'd be lying motionless on the ground for a few minutes... hopefully Campbell or Peters can get some payback so I can feel a little better about it...

Of course. I could not imagine that guy in Philly. I mean, he would get to the box and have to deal with the fans than. I still love that time Tie Domi was in the box.

Here's a question: who's the first to end their cup drought? The Leafs or the B's?

Minus injuries, Toronto is a top 10 team. We're missing Tucker, Peca and Kyle Wellwood.
Boston has no defence beyond Chara, and no team beyond Bergeron. They're prospects are poor beyond Tuukka Rask (and Bergeron who is young).
Toronto is being built on youth with guys like Steen, Wellwood, Stajan, Ian White, Colaiacovo...and a core group of veterans. Next 3 years, I predict big things...
Answer, Toronto.

Did anyone see the Patrick Stefan play HAHAHAHAHA Lollerskates. I thought, "Oh that's too bad but at least they'll still win" and then whoosh, goal. Team did end up winning but they gave the other team a point.

Here's a question: who's the first to end their cup drought? The Leafs or the B's? Toronto is a LOT closer than the B's are right now.

Doesn't matter who's closer until it's done. Yankees have been close to winning the world series since the last time they did and haven't done it, the Sox were close against the Mets and didn't do it. Ect.

Minus injuries, Toronto is a top 10 team. Please tell me your kidding. I mean come on I understand you like the leafs and want to support them but you need to be realistic. Even if the leafs had all their players their are still a 7th or 8th seed at best. They went on a good run their for a while but for the last little while I believe they have come back done to earth. I am not saying I dont want to see them in the playoffs in fact as long as they dont beat the Oilers I wouldn't mind seeing them win the cup with them being a canadian team.

7th or 8th (where they are at right now) is what...15th...16th at worst?
This is after times without Sundin, times without Wellwood, times without Tucker, a lot of time now without Peca, and time missing guys like Colaiacovo and Ponikarovsky who are young but instrumental.
Injuries have hurt this team badly my friend. Us and the Sens. I will say though, and this isn't me just sucking up, but next to the leafs, I'm an Oilers fan. I love the way they play. I was one of the very few around here against Calgary when they went on their cup run. I wanted Edmonton to have that glory.

The Leafs simply aren't contenders right now, injuries or not. You note that Peca has been out awhile. So? He's a mediocre player in the regular season. He shines, albeit not that bright, in the playoffs.
Raycroft will not bring a cup to anyone as far as i'm concerned. And that defense is suspect because it's more concerned with scoring than preventing goals.
McCabe is an offensive monster who logs alot of minutes but he'll never win the Norris because he simply doesn't play great defense. Same goes for Kaberle.
They also do not have the offensive firepower needed to win a cup. Granted, they don't need to be the Oilers of the 80's, but basically being a one-man show (Sundin) most of the time certainly isn't the answer.
If I had to pick based on today's teams, then yes, the Leafs certainly are closer. But the B's also have started bringing in decent young talent (Raask and Kessel), they have some solid pieces in place (Chara, Bergeron, Murray) so they're not that far away.
