I went to a Bruins game yesterday at the Garden. Thrashers won 3-2 on a last minute goal in the third period. Surprisingly, there were still a lot of fans at the game and the action was exciting. I figured it would be a bad game because the Bruins wouldn't care, but it was cool.

You know what having your team first in your division gets you as a coach. Apprantly fired as the Devils fired Coach Claude Julien despite leading the atlantic division right now.

Yeah I do with one article up and the links aren't set up. Still kinda tinkering with the html as well. Normally, i'd say yeah, you're right but my sched is a little something like this: 8am-330pm at my normal job, @ the stadium by 430, game starts at 705, we finish around midnight, the Chicago White Sox come in immediately afterwards and we have to unpack them..then i get a few hours of sleep and come back around 9am-ish for a 12:05 game..Long night.

Colorade is making a serious push at getting in the playoffs. Right now they're playing the best hockey in the league right now. They'll have to win out, however, and hope that Calgary somehow only gets one point in their last three games.
In the East, it's pretty much Toronto and Montreal fighting for the 8 seed, however if Tampa or the Rangers slip they could fall out. Tampa's the team that's been struggling most, but they have more total wins than most teams, which would come in effect via tiebreaker.

The only thing that matters? Buffalo clinching the east.

Montreal and Toronto play Saturday. The winner gets the 8th seed, unless the Islanders can beat both Philly and New Jersey, and I believe Toronto has to also win the Habs-Leafs game.
Tampa Bay and Atlanta are fighting for the SE Division, with Atlanta up by a point with each time having two games to go. The game will likely be decided on Saturday when the two teams play in Atlanta. The winner will get the 3 seed, with the loser likely getting the 7 seed, with an outside chance of seed 6, which would pit the two teams against each other in the first round of the playoffs.
Ottawa and Pittsburgh, the 4th and 5th seeds respecitvely, are fighting for home-ice advantage with two games to go and the same point total. Pitt plays the Rangers and Ottawa plays Boston. Ottawa holds the tie-breaker if they remained tied.
In the West, Colorado won and Calgary lost, meaning there's still hope for the Avs to make the playoffs. They have to beat Nashville and then the Flames at home, and have Calgary lose to both Edmonton and Colorado, however, one of those losses can occur in overtime for the Avs sake...
A few teams are trying to jocky positions in the West, but essentially, outside of a possibly 8th seed swap, the standings are set...

Only in Canada... us Americans could care less about a couple of sub-par teams battling it out for the last playoff spot... pretty much the play-in game for the NCAA's...
Of course some of that's sarcasm, and it probably will be a great game. That arena is gonna be rocking for 60 minutes too. While I hope both teams can somehow lose, I'll pull for the Habs, even though I think they'll be a tougher first round matchup than the sucky Leafs, who I hate so much because of their fans...

I'm just gonna say the Red Wings are gonna win the Stanley Cup. Homerism? Yes and no. hey thats what you guys thought last year and look what happened. Although I do agree that Detroit should in all likely-hood make it to the western final after that I dont. I am not sure that the wings are as good as the 2nd team in the nhl I think their division over-inflates their point total alot of years. Playing Chicago, St. Louis, and Columbus 8 times is pretty much a guaranteed 48 points which almost half their point total. Hell last year they got like 60 of a possible 64 divisional points and never lost a division game in regular time. That division was awful last year, although it is much better this year with the emergence of nashville.

Hell last year they got like 60 of a possible 64 divisional points and never lost a division game in regular time. That division was awful last year, although it is much better this year with the emergence of nashville. The reason I say no on the Red Wings is because of several things: 1.) Age. They still are a very old team and while they have some good young components, I don't believe they have enough in the tank to make a long, grueling run. 2.) Hasek. Hasek has been way too inconsistent and in and out of the lineup too much the last few years to be dependant. Does he have it in him to make a run? Maybe, but I say no. 3.) No go-to guy. Sure, Datsyuk and Zetterberg are talented kids but neither is really a "go-to guy". Also, can they turn their success in the regular season into playoff success? What makes them contenders is experience and defense. Lidstrom is a HOF defender who leads them and he can certainly control a series. But for my money, Detroit doesn't make the conference finals. Hell, even a hot Kiprusoff in the first round could spell a ton of trouble.
