along with living in my dorm, Im also renting an apartment with three other roommates. This is mostly because I plan on getting a real job/internship over the summer and want to have living arrangements already planned. There is a year left on the lease. Two of the guys are great and Im good friends with them, but the other is some random douche. From what Ive heard, he used to be friends with one of the guys and just sorta follows him around. This guy
-- never cleans anything up unless explicitly told to. He just leaves shit around, never cleans the dishes, and pretty much never helps out at all keeping the place livable
-- rarely pays for food and other stuff for the apartment. He's the guy that expects us to share a pizza or something after he declined the chance to pitch in for it
-- without asking anybody, bought a lathe and put it in the living room. We told him that shit won't work out, but he said he already bought it and has nowhere else to put it.
-- is as loud as possible during the day yet gets pissed off in the evening if you make a sound because hes "trying to work".
-- is just a generally uptight nit
I don't think we have the right to just kick him out. The other option is to just eat the cancellation fee, cover his part, and find somewhere else. It doesn't bother me as much since I can go to my dorm when I want, but the other two guys are really pissed.
Thoughts?

If he has a girlfriend, do her. Once, twice, three times for sure.
I would say just try and confront him about it.

yeah man, mine's the same way, he comes into the room at 3 AM sometimes and turns on the TV cuz he's "not tired" and wakes me up, doesn't even care
talks on the phone very loudly while i'm asleep, and when i do so when he's asleep, he tells me to "leave if i'm going to talk on the phone"
in fact tonight, he totally just grabbed one of the water bottles that came out of the 24 pack that i bought and he didn't contribute any money to whatsoever, and just goes "I'm thirsty, I'm drinking this" and called me "greedy about my shit" when i told him to ask, not take
anyway, i suggest confronting him before it gets out of hand, because it's out of hand between me and my roomie and i'm on the verge of knocking the shit out of him
