I do a LOT of Obama campaign work, and they didn't put him in my top 3... I don't really buy it.
Got to meet him yesterday, gave a great speech, excellent man.

I don't even care this election.
Every candidate sucks in my mind, almost like pick your poison (Although, that's what the past 2 elections have been like).

Other than the increadable amount of spending he plans to do without much of a mention of how he's going to pay for it. With our economy teatering on the brink of recession right now, the idea of him raising taxes (which is the only way to pay for that medical plan if you ask me) could spin us into a worse situation. To that end, I see nothing on his site discussing his plans for the economy. I realize a President does not have drastic effects, but I would at least like to know his policy on international trade and raising/lowering taxes. That and I worry about how he will handle Iraq. My fears on that end are enough for me not to really get jazzed about him. If Ron Paul wasn't batshit crazy about some things, he'd be the right guy for the job to be honest.

Wish I had my stuff with me from Lebanon, he was asked a question about economy, but I don't have my notes or a video of it with me. I'm trying to remember what the landmarks were for the health care plan. The only economy issue that was brought up that is fresh in my memory dealt with globalization. Wants to flip the codes so that company's who keep jobs inside the country instead of outsourcing get the tax breaks, and not the other way around like it currently is. Believes that we are at fault, not China, with the problems we've had with imports recently, and that we need to restructure the way we allow things into this country. Believes that environmental reform and quelling of situation in Middle East to take care of oil costs, though has warned Americans that they're going to have to adapt to a different lifestyle than we've currently been trained to based upon our neccessary to break our foreign oil dependence.

Quelling the Middle East is nearly impossible I hate to say it. Getting America off of foreign oil would help a lot, and tame off some minor inflationary pressures from sky rocketing oil prices. Oh and the outsourcing thing is a natural occurance in a globalized world. It's the market acting; if it can be done cheaper, it will be done cheaper. I personally think one of the things that will actually make outsourcing a non-issue is this "green" movement. I heard Thomas Friedman speak about a month ago and he talked about this. You have to be one the edge of technology to actually make new, eviromentally friendly goods/industry. That is where I think money is for the future and America will be on the cutting edge, because we have the money and the the most wealth. "Green" goods can be expensive, so it would make sense the wealthiest country in the world would be one of the first markets for those kind of goods.
So basically, I think Obama's wrong about outsourcing. He's right on America needing a new lifestyle to keep us off foreign oil, but that cannot be forced. It'll happen when gas gets too expensive, which is probably somewhere around six dollars a gallon or so.
All of this aside dude, I hope Obama wins the Dem nomination.
