Ron Paul is hardly the "man". A joke Libertarian, in all practical applications, simply a conservative who hates the government.
Though a brothel owner endorsing him isn't as ridiculous as the Chuck Norris endorsement of Huckabee

Oh and you are right, Ron Paul is no libertarian due to his stands on abortion and other issues that deal with personal freedom. I was just saying, a conservative that hates government is pretty much the first step in becoming a libertarian

Paul supporters seem convinced that he'll get the Libertarian nomination when he eventually loses the Republican one, and while I'd love to see him on a voting day ballot, I can't see the party supporting Paul, they have to see through it.

Sorry people couldn't detect the sarcasm in the title. Again. Nah, I knew it was sarcastic, I've just become enough of a dick that I immediately latch onto opportunities to downplay other candidates.

Nobody really is man, that's the biggest problem. I like what Paul is pushing, but he is too much of an isolationist to be a viable leader of this country. Yeah he's good on the fiscal issues but with America's position as a world power we cannot have a true isolationist like him in office. I'm happy to push for him right now, because his views on state's rights (it's a catch-phrase I know, but I don't know how to best sum it up) and on lowering spending/taxes are things that really need to be pushed. Hell talking about getting rid of the IRS and the Federal Reserve is a good start. I'm not sure if we should go that far, but we've seen fringe groups have their ideas taken up by the mainstream and get inacted and I think that could happen here. I want him to get more press, but he would be a disaster as a President because he's fringe on some issues, and would be unable to get anything done against our tax and spend congress still holding power. My biggest problem is, I don't know who would be any better...

Maybe you could help me out david, find me a canidate who fits this mold somewhat...
1. Fiscal Conservative (Meaning lowering/eliminating barriers to international trade, cut spending across the board including the military, lower taxes for all by 10-25%, reduce the amount of senseless shit industry has to do with OSHA that costs them undue time and money, ect...)
2. Doesn't give a flying shit what anyone does. So is pro-choice, pro-gay marrage, for legalizing marijuana, won't wire tap our citizens, won't push to have cameras around every street corner, pro-immigartion, ect...
3. Isn't a pussy. People have to realize that we sometimes have to go to war or at least find a good exit point of the war the idiot in office put us into. This is where Paul irks me, we cannot just pull the frick out of Iraq. It's now an important strategic position in the region. We also might be forced into a war with Iran or North Korea during the next presidency. I want a guy willing to do it if it is nessisary. Also I want a guy willing to deal with international orgainizations. With globalization being such a huge force, we have to collaborate to stay a key player in the global market and geo-politically as well. This is where I have my probelms with Paul, he's against the UN, NATO, and other like minded organizations.
So yeah, members of DC, tell me who this guy is and where I can donate $100 to him.

I really don't feel like there's a strong Republican candidate in this election, and the democrats don't have a lot going for them either. Biden should be the man, but he'll never catch on sadly. Kucinich is absolutely brilliant, but that will never happen. Obama has a chance, but there's a large group of people who simply won't even consider voting for him.
The election results likely will be something no one is happy with.

Biden should be the man, but he'll never catch on sadly. I agree with you on that much, Biden should have been the Dem guy from the start. I actually would consider voting for him if he makes it that far. Oh and Sportsbuck, he works for Obama's campaign...

I will probably be voting Obama... although I'm not big on any of the candidates right now, he is probably the one with the best view points if you ask me...
My only concern really is... Hillary winning = me moving to Canada...
