Keeper, are you a republican, or democrat? Or are you an independent? I really would rather not associate with either, simply for the fact that party politics are an absolute joke, and this whole "We hate the Republicans/Democrats" that goes on during every debate will not bridge the gaps this country needs to fix to be successful. I volunteer a lot of time for the Obama campaign because I feel he's the best chance we have as a country. He's incredibly bright, is one hell of a speaker, and from the times I have met him or seen him speak, he possess intangibles that I feel no other candidate has come close to (I've seen the top 3 Dem's, as well as Rudy and Mormon Mitt). Where many candidates are looking to divide, or "beat" the other candidates, Obama has made it quite clear that the answer does not lie in division, but unity. I've seen him get attacked on every issue during Q&A sessions, but he's never missed a step.

"Unity" in Washington is nothing more than a pipe dream. Obama says that now, but my friend that is not how the game is played. Obama doesn't have the political experience IMO to survive the primaries, much less the GOP onslaught that is sure to follow.

I would rather support a pipedream than any other candidate that will leads us into the same old shit. Obama has plenty of experience as a leader under his belt, and he's brighter than most other politicians. He will take his blows, surely, but I don't doubt for a second that he will overcome them.

Supporting ideals is a good thing, but be real enough to know that he's no different than any other guy in this race. I know I'm critical of Obama with you, but honestly he's my second favorite dem behind Joe Biden. If Louisiana matters at all in the dem. primary (I'll vote absentee from Oxford, but I'll vote in Louisiana both times) I'll declare dem (if I can that is) and vote Obama. I would rather see him run than anyone else in that is in the forefront right now.
That being said, unless something drastic changes I'll probalby vote republican in the general election. I'll have to look at both candiates to decide and all though, it's just a gut feeling.
