Jesus, I was in a great mood today because of Ohio State going to the national championship, and now effing girls, or my best friend in particular, have to go and piss me the hell off.
So Friday night: Me, her, her boyfriend, and a couple of other friends went to the movies. Her boyfriend was a freaking asshole to her, and me being the best friend comforted her, put my arms around her, hugged her and pulled her close and a like. Her boyfriend (Who walked out of the theatre and was standing outside of it when we were leaving) sees this and gets pissed as shit, and comes up to me and starts blanking on me about me "being all over his girl".
"I'm like what the fuck dude she is my best friend". we start talking shit to each other, and we fight. i got a black eye from it but he had blood gushing from his nose, and he broke it. her mom gave me a ride home (and on that ride both her AND her mom thanked me for being there for her).
But, apparently today her boyfriend came over and apologized and shit and conviced her that it's MY fault. How the hell is it my fault? So she calls me tonight and starts bitching at me about how she doesn't need me protecting her and shit and about how I need to apologize to her boyfriend for breaking his nose.
FUCK THAT! No way am I apologizing to someone who: 1) Hurt my best friend & most importantly 2) Talked shit and fought me.
I hate fucking high school, especially mine, which is so drama-filled that it's rediculous.

Bang the girl, kill the boyfriend. Problem solved. Q.F.T. Seriously though, just keep a clear head through the shit. Personally, I don't think fighting him was the best choice. I guess that is the joy of high school though.

I don't care about legality here, I would do unspeakable things to that girl. I mean, shit that would make Jeffrey Dahmer blush.

Dude's a total tool and your best friend is a complete moron. I try to stay away from those people as much as possible.

She's caught up because he's her boyfriend. Is he boinking her? Usually girls act real stupid when that's happening....
I think you did the right thing. The fight may have been a bit much, but you seem like a stand up guy. Your damned if you do, damned if you don't. She may have been mad at you if you didn't do anything and let the guy continue to be a jerk...

Haha, Sportsbuck pours all his anger into that post and Keeper's gotta be the one to go and point out a spelling mistake.

In all seriousness though, what's the big lesson to take from this: guys and girls can't be friends, fundamentally it doesn't work. Google the ladder theory. Sure, it's ridiculous at points, but for the most part it's entirely true.
I know it is because 99% of my friends are girls, and it's gotten me nowhere because of it, except for used and hurt. It's a stupid situation to get yourself into, and believe me I've been there often.
I mean, if you've known this girl since you were four, grew up next to eachother, and she's practically you're sister, that's a different situation. But otherwise it's stupid, because you HAVE feelings for her, whether you can even acknowledge it or not, and it will only get you into bad situations.
Don't be friends with girls.

you broke a guy's nose sportsbuck but in the end, when a girl is going out with someone, it would be hard to split them apart. A girl would chose a boyfriend over a best friend after my experience in high school. I wonder if she like's being treated like crap though.

I respectfully disagree with Keeper. I'm friends with girls, and honestly want to bone every one of them, but that doesn't mean I want a relationship with them. Being a guy, I want to procreate, and any guy who hangs out with chicks has to remember that you'll want to have sex with them.
You just have to be mature enough to put that aside. Since I don't want to date any of my friends, this is an easy thing to do and it works fine for me. It's healthy IMO to have Platonic friends, you just can't actually want to be with them.
Oh and Sportsbuck, you will not win this. The girl will always side with the cock that's f'ing her. Sorry that's just life my friend. You just have to be a friend, because that's all you are right? If so, for her, be the bigger man and apologize. If you really want to be her friend, just be there for her when that shit happens. You know, after the fact where her b/f won't actually see you hugging her. That's just a rookie mistake and will always lead down a bad road. I get the feeling though that you want to be with her. Just saying...

Don't be friends with girls. wait....you said 99% of your friends are girls and your saying not to be friends with them because of some shit that happened to you? Im going to have to do a google search of that theory....... EDIT: Ok i LOL'd at the theory but it really made sense. The beginning dialouge broke down the basics.

A) Keeper is mostly friends with girls.
B) Keeper is getting nowhere and in a stupid situation.
So does A cause B or B cause A? Hmmmm.

I'm saying that I know being friends with girls has put me into a lot of shitty situations and that I'd be better off if I wasn't.
Read the ladder theory though, good read for fun, if anything.

So are you trying to space yourself away from female friends now? Or are you going to hit it and quit it since you have so many options
