This is inspired by a conversation I had with my friends today. We were out to lunch and this Santa looking guy kept giving us the weirdest look when we were talking about it. Just wanted to see what DC thought of the issue.

I'm pro-choice because there are entirely too many stupid people, we don't need these stupid fuckers procreating.

seriously I think abortion sucks (because you're killing an innocent life) but is neccesary.
Honestly, I think governments around the world should make procreation a priviledge (sp?). Seriously they should handle it just like they handle driving. You have to pass a test to get a "procreation license" that allows you to have a certain number of kids. If you have more kids then you're allowed by your license or you have a child without a license you have the option to have an abortion or give the kid up for adoption, plus you will be levy a hefty fine. Somewhere in the 10s of thousands of dollars and a possibility of jailtime for repeated "violations". Man it sounds like I am making child birth akin to getting a parking ticket, but I think it is neccesary to curb our exponentially expanding population and poverty rates.

I'm only in favor of it if the woman is raped.

I agree with Sportsbuck...
however, we all know that even if a law is ever made saying abortion is illegal people will just do it illegally and it will just be unsafe.
so although I'm pro-life, I don't think there should be laws to stop it

Abortion cuts down on crime. Read the book Freakonomics man? nah, I heard it had to do with sumo wrestlers and teachers cheating or something. I'll get around to it eventually.

That was discussed in the book, but they looked at a lot of different things. One of em was saying that legalizing abortion cut down on crime. It's just an interesting read, and pretty quick as well. Good for a lazy Saturday or Sunday.

Good for a lazy Saturday or Sunday. Oh so it basically talks about a whole bunch of stuff. My basic thought process was people that get abortions are poor and poor people commit crime, so if less poor people are born there will be less crime.

Yeah that was the books basic point on abortion. Most of the time it was poor mothers who were unmarried that get abortions and that is the enviroment that leads to more crime.

Depends on the circumstances. But if your stupid and get knocked up at 15, then deal with it. It was your fault.

If you take my point of view, and think it's not morally wrong until the third trimester (the fetus can feel pain, and that is cruel to make any organism suffer that much) then whatever. If it is done in the 1st tri-mester, than to me, it's the same as taking a birth control pill.
