Alright guys, I finally compiled this thing. I'll upload it when I get home tomorrow, will definitely be up by tomorrow evening. My goal is that there is something for everyone. I think I may have been able to achieve that, but time will tell. Because I'm a freak and do stuff like this, I'll give you a little info on every track, though I do suggest you give them all a chance once.

1) As Tall As Lions - 505 (Indie Rock)
An up-and-coming band, this was the lead track of their iTunes EP. The remarkable part of the band is the incredible voice possessed by their lead singer, a step above most of that genre. Good, melodic indie rock.
2) Band of Horses - Is There A Ghost (Indie Rock/Alt. Country)
Fronted by a man who appears to be homeless (and once was), this outfit released the critically acclaim Cease to Begin this year. Lyrically simplistic, yet incredibly powerful, this is the first song and single from the album
3) Andrew Bird - Heretics (Indie Rock)
His 2007 release catapulted him into the top of most lists, no one does intelligent indie better than this man. A multi-instrumentalist whose mastered violin and too many different guitars, one of the most lyrically inventive albums of the year
4) Arcade Fire - Intervention (Indie Rock)
I could've picked any song of this album, and they might be the best-known band on this playlist. Hailed by some as simply the best band making music, it doesn't live up to their debut album Funeral, but holds its own, and is still one of the years top releases, especially when looking at albums that reached the mainstream
5) Spoon - Don't Make Me a Target (Indie Rock)
Beautiful production, catchy lyrics, Spoon did everything right on Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, and it shows especially strong in this track. Simply one of my favorites from the year
6) Jamie T - Sheila (Hip-Hop/UK Garage)
Yeah, he's got an accent, and the beat isn't what you've come to expect from mainstream hip-hop, but Jamie T crafted one of my favorites this year. Honest and witty with his lyrics, alongside great beats, Panic Prevention is a great release.
7) The Hood Internet - I'm A Flirt - Shoreline (Remix)
This mashup of R.Kelly and Broken Social Scene scared me at first, because I simply didn't want to hear one of my favorites ruined by R. Kelly, but the results are pleasantly surprising, and it was easily my favorite remix/mashup of the year
8) Flobots - Stand Up (Hip-Hop)
Another atypical hip-hop release, the political group Flobots display not only some of the best musicianship in the genre, but simply an incredible mastery of lyrical delivery, never faltering while bringing their messages across strong
9) M.I.A. - Paper Planes (Hip-Hop)
Just listen to the chorus and tell me you don't love this song. One of my favorite "party songs" of the year I suppose, just absolute fun while remaining lyrically relevent and intelligent
10) Burial - Archangel (Dubstep)
I don't know how to explain this to people not familiar with the genre, I just think it has a lot of universal appeal to people who listen to mainstream music. Check it out for yourself
11) Broken Social Scene presents Kevin Drew - Tbtf (Indie Pop/Rock)
The songs title is an acronym for Too Beautiful to F***, and I think that gives you an idea of the content. It's a bit explicit in it's intentions, but is a good song for playlists in certain situations, if you know what I mean
12) Radiohead - Reckoner (Experimental Rock)
My favorite song of my favorite album of the year, by the best band currently making music. Doesn't need any other introduction
13) The Twilight Sad - That Summer, at Home I Had Become the Invisable Boy (Experimental Rock)
A Scottish band who has been largely ignored this year, I love this release. Loud, deep, layered, and matched with some great vocals and lyrics, I have a feeling a lot of people will regret overlooking this when they release their next album
14) Animal Collective - Peacebone (Experimental Rock)
I doubt this track will have any fans. Experimental, and a bit out of everyone's comfort box, I've long been a fan, they release some of the most creative music out there. I would've put their drummer's side project, Panda Bear, on the list, but all of his songs were too long. Brilliant stuff, but not for everyone.
15) Liars - Cycle Time (Punk/Dance Punk)
Aggressive punk from New York city, that remains dancy. Great stuff, though I don't enjoy it as much as some people I know.
16) Steel Train - I Feel Weird (Indie Pop/Classic Rock)
This is for the classic rock enthusiasts on the board, though it does have a pop flair. They are an incredible jam band, have ridiculous solo's littered throughout the album, and yet still maintain their pop sensibility. Saw this band several times this year, never failed to impress.
17) The National - Mistaken For Strangers (Indie Rock/Post-Punk)
My #2 on my list, Matt Berniger's baritone voice seems to turn some people off, but he pours out some of the most brilliant commentary on American living and relationships, while backed by an incredible set of musicians, including Sufjan Stevens guesting on several tracks
18) The Good Life - Your Share of Men (Indie Rock/Folk Rock)
Lead singer of Cursive's side project, a fun song from a fun album, even if it is a bit of a downer lyrically. His voice is an acquired taste, but if you have a hard time listening to him now, you should hear the older recordings
19) Josh Ritter - To the Dogs or Whoever (Folk Rock/Alt. Country)
Just a fun, classic song, catchy as the genre gets, and full of Ritter's incredible lyrical flow. I think this will be one of the more popular tracks.
20) Limbeck - Big Drag (Alternative Country)
Yeah yeah this is for the country folks out there, though it is certainly not strict country as you're used to. Fun band, and they put on hell of a show live, guys in the southwest should definitely check them out, I was fortunate enough to see them on tour.
21) The Weakerthans - Elegy for Gump Worsley (Folk Rock/Indie Rock)
Maybe my least favorite song of their album, but... it's about hockey, so I couldn't leave it off. A mellow closing track for my mix.
That's it, I'll have it up tomorrow, enjoy.
