I want to someone to clarify something for me. I hear about all these scholarships that are for certain races, ex African-Americans, Indians, ect. But something got me thinking today that all the scholarships what white people can get, can also be taken by people with other ethniticies. Yet, there are scholarships for other ethniticties that cannot be taken by white people.
And I think that if a white male, or female started a foundation for a white-only scholarship, that it would immediately be protested.
Your thoughts?

I don't think white-only scholarships are needed. People are racist and that gives whites a large advantage.

People are racist no matter what race, I really don't think there is that much of an advantage.

I think most students of non-white decent dont take college seriously because money is one of the issues. These race organizations create these special scholarships to motivate all these minority students to apply to schools knwoing they have a shot to have their education paid for. Now a days, there are more white students in colleges and im sure money and background is a reason why.
there are billions of scholarships out there and the people that create them have the right to decide which people are eligible for them- it is their money.

Ok but Blaze, I know alot of poor white people that have that same attitude towards college for the same reason. Why aren't there special scholarships for them?

There are scholarships for white people. At some HBCUs they give them out as an "minority" scholarship. I know Jackson State does at least.

People are racist no matter what race, I really don't think there is that much of an advantage. It really does. It gives a huge advantage. Being a white male helps a lot when it comes to some things. Job hiring is probably one of the best examples.

I know a lot of poor white people too but I was saying as a whole, there are more whites in colleges than other minorities. Those race organizations just chose to reach out to students who might have difficulty in getting to school in order to increase the numbers of minority students in American colleges. i know that if an only white scholarship were created, there would be a big backlash. Its a double standard but like I said earlier the scholarship creators have the right to determine eligibility requirements since it's their money. If someone wanted to create an only white scholarship, they'd be hit with problems. Thats just the way it is.

Job hiring is probably one of the best examples. obviously you haven't spent much time around engineering faculties. That place is so biased towards females and minorities it's disgusting. Anyway agreed on jct point if a white person set up a white-only scholarship it would be racist but a black or spanish does the same thing there a hero. Honestly it's getting to the point where white people in general are too afraid to speak there mind on issues because they might come off as racist. (Not saying people the KKK should be able to do what they do, I'm talking about normal, everyday people). On a related issue do you guys find women-only gyms incredibly sexist? Now I dont want to join these gyms or anything but seriously if a man was to do this he would prob be murdered but women do it and nobody cares.

Considering how perverted some men are, I don't find women-only gyms sexist. I find it more or less a means for women to distance themselves from possible dangers of perverts and what not.

My friend had a mohawk and didn't get any jobs until he cut it off. Granted, dreads are a little..less extreme, but some places don't care about race.
I'm not saying that they didn't, but it is a possibility.

I thought for sure with my long hair I would have been told about it at work. They never said anything though, I expected I would need to tie it back but they never said anything.

I don't see the need for white-only scholarships..
.. but at the same time I don't see the need for minority scholarships either.
They should just be scholarships!
You do what it freakin says... write an essay or whatever. They pick the best one, it gets the scholarship. End of story. Race isn't a subject.
Race is looked at too much nowadays. It's freakin rediculous. I hate EVERYBODY. End of story.
