I have this slight inconvience.
I have these 4 songs by The Police and 3 by Whitesnake. Yet when I'm on my iPod and go to artist and click on each, only 1 song shows up for each of them. I have to go to songs and scroll there to find the rest of the songs I have for them. I've changed the artist to all the songs to the same thing, like some artist songs are spelled different, but not the case.
Anyone ever have this problem, any ideas what it is?

it's cause the Ipod sees only one "album" attatched to that artists name (when you look under artist) for instance say I have 3 foo fighters songs 1 song has the album name in your honor but the other 2 dont have album names only the one with an album will be played using the method you use. However if all the songs have the same album or if there are more than one albums attached to the artist than all the songs will show
So long story short change the names of the albums for your artists as well

I had that problem on my Nano (2nd Gen) for like Guns N Roses I think and I really don't remember what the problem ended up being (it ended up getting stolen shortly after... now give me pity) but the album name could have been it now that I think of. It didn't really bother me anyways though, seeing how I mostly always listened to playlists or shuffle, and I'd just scroll if I wanted specific songs.
Not to turn this thread off topic or anything (well yeah that's my intention) anybody have a particular preference to getting a non-iPod mp3 player? I've been looking at getting a Zune or possibly one of the new SanDisks but wanted to know if anyone here had heard anything good about anything else. I pretty much know what I'm getting with an iPod and just wanted to know if there's something an other player offers that makes it stick out...

Only download full albums. Solves all problems.
And McGahee, coming from a guy who refused to buy an iPod for the longest time because of how much I hate iTunes... there isn't a better product on the market than the iPod Classic. Best purchase I ever made.

This is probably one of the rare times in which the trendy, mainstream product is by far the best value. The ipod is easily the best mp3 player available.
