Really, if it's on the front page of the forum, there's really nothing wrong with posting in it, especially in a relatively unactive board like this. It's when stuff is getting bumped from page 2 or so that it's bad.
ASM, is there really anything wrong with saying hello to someone, albeit late? Is there a cutoff to when you can welcome someone and when you can't? I've noticed you posting a lot of stuff like that in the new members forum whenever someone posts hello a week or so later.
