Not sure if anyone knows much about laptops or computers.
Anyways, I have a Dell XPS 1530 2.0 Ghz 3 GB RAM. It is two months old.
As I have been saddled in bed with mono for the past month, I have become increasingly bored and using it much more. I've realized that the computer gets extremely hot, almost to point where I can feel the heat through the key board. While, I am no genius, I know this can't be good. So I did research and found a program that can detect my CPUs temp. Well, mine runs between 70-80 C. Which is way too high. It peaked at 97 C. As well, it doesn't seem like my fan is running at all. So, to anyone with knowledge, do you think this is just a faulty fan or what?
Much thanks.

Agreed, sounds like the fan. This is why those laptop coolers became so popular a couple of years ago, but those are almost disposable as they only last a couple of months.

I have had it for 3 years though and it still works fine. So its just the fan.

You're also not supposed to keep it on your bed, on the carpet, etc...mine had the same problem, all you might need to do is keep a magazine/notebook underneath.
