I dunno if it's global warming affecting doing all of this but whats with all these big storms? ? The cyclone that killed a crapload of people, The twisters that hit the midwest recently, the old volcano that erupted in south america (I think that's where its' located) and now a giant earthquake in Japan? I wonder what else is next?

how would climate change affect when a volcano erupts or when an earthquake is triggered? Pretty sure those are independent of what the climate is doing.

The earthquake hit in China.
To cooljay, some state the weights applied on different plates of the earth crust from ice glaciers is the cause. When the ice melts, the weight is shifted around. Thus, the plates will shift around. The theory of Plate-Tectonics states that the shifting of these plates is the cause of earthquakes, volcanoes, and the shift of land. So, global warming melting glaciers can be linked to the rise in earthquakes and volcanic eruption.

My Astronomy professor gave an in-depth explanation on the stuff. We were talking of the make up of the planets, so he sidetracked to that. It isn't a smart thing as opposed to me just paying attention that day. When it comes to science and math, I am just terrible.

Well cyclones happen if there is global warming or not, it's part of nature. This one just happened to hit a really poor place with a pitiful government. Hence the number of deaths, because it wasn't that terribly strong (Cat 3 at landfall I think).
It's May, and that's the peak of tornado season in the mid-west and mid-south. So yeah, there are going to be tornado outbreaks. The one this past weekend wasn't any worse than we've seen in the past, hell it was tame compared to a few.
My point is, you can't connect these systems or earthquakes to global warming. Sorry, I'm not going to allow that logical fallacy to be made on my watch.

Every deadly natural disaster that occurs anywhere: "OMG TEH GLOBAL WARMINGZ R KILLIN US ALL" Seriously chill out. People react so crazy to this stuff now that we "know" about Global Warming when it's no different from before. Even if temperatures are up, these big horrible storms are no different than in the past...sorry.
