Guess i wont be wathcing ESPN for the next 24 hours. All we'll hear about on Sportscenter, PTI, Rome, etc is Jon Lester and the no hitter and the cancer...blah blah blah. BSPN is so damn biased with the Sox and Yanks

A terrible approach to hitting and timely defense contributed to his no-hitter, not overpowering pitching, even though he was nails in the late innings.

24 year old beats cancer and pitches no hitter...terrible story And, ESPN sucks. Tom Brady has it right. ESPN is like MTV nowadays.

ESPN will beat the fact that he overcame cancer until it's dead like a horse, moreso than the fact he pitched a no-hitter. Lester is just like any other human being who has beaten the disease in the past - he just happens to play baseball. They need to stop trying to play to emotions, not overdo it, and stick to reporting sports.

When I saw robino posted in this thread, I thought "Watch, he went to that game or something like that." And lo and behold, I was right.

Pretty lucky coincidence... I'd been planning to go to that game for months... wife and I spent the last week up in New England and I searched and searched for decent affordable tickets for months. I found some a couple of weeks ago, we all went and ended up hitting a historic game. My two games in Fenway now have been this and a Pedro/Clemens, Sox/Yankees matchup a few years back.
Monday was one of those games that the entire city of Boston is claiming they were there, you know - I heard probably 50 different guys in the airport/planes saying they were there - you know it's total BS. Even my buddies roommate was saying she was there even though she was asleep when we got home from the game... Fortunately we have many pictures - crappy as they may be - to prove it.

I was there. The only reason I posted afterward is because I only live 8 milliseconds from the ballpark.

Lester's father was just revealed to have cancer. That just sucks.
