No idea, it's become pretty clear his movies are formulaic, and his latest effort is laughable. He genuinely thought he could make trees frightening.

If the guy got some help with writing movies I think he could be great. Also, who the hell thought it would be good to cast Mark Wahlberg and John Leguizamo? Is the goal of this film failure?

Is the goal of this film failure? he gets to make movies cause he did sixth sense.. i mean same can be said about f**king tyler perry (Medea movies) the wayans brothers (Little man, white chicks..etc) its because theres still people out there that love shitty horrible movies.. let it be black comedies that suck or bad thriller/horror films. |

Wahlberg can do anything he wants after his performance in Departed.
Shyamalan's last 2 movies sucked but sixth sense was crazy good and signs was pretty good as well.

Shyamalan has turned out decent movies at the start of his career. He started out with three good ones: Wide Awake, Sixth Sense, and Signs. Then he followed that with three bad ones - Village, Lady in the Water, and The Happening. He has seemed to go for more fantasy in his thrillers, after having kids. The stories play out like twisted children's tales. As a writer/director, I think he has some good in him, he just needs to get back to what he was once doing.
And stop putting yourself in every movie you do, you're not Quintin Tarantino, get over yourself.
