This actually makes me sad, always enjoyed watching the guy. Great interviewer.

I have no idea who he is. I feel so uninformed.

Honestly, he was the best at what he did. Nobody was as good at grilling a politician. It is a sad day.

I have no idea who he is. I feel so uninformed. This makes me sad, because people knew who Heath Ledger was but don't know who a great reporter is. I'll take you back to 2000, a whiteboard and Russert writing three words early in the night. "Florida, Florida, Florida"

Was watching MSNBC when Brokaw came on the air, incredibly saddened, Russert was simply the best in the business, there simply was no better reporter than himself, and he has assembled truly an incredible news team this political season. I've been watching MSNBC all afternoon as they reflect, Russert's long-reaching influence could not be better underlined than as they have done today.

"Florida, Florida, Florida" While there is no excuse for my lack of knowledge on him, I really don't pay attention to much news-wise because there really are few things that are reported that aren't depressing. So I really don't care.

I'm absolutely devastated to be honest. Russert was the last great hope in journalism, and whether he was questioning politicians I loved or hated, I always respected how well done his work was. He did his job so brilliantly, that to now be without him is a serious loss to the remainder of this campaign. In an age where political journalism has become such a sad caricature of what it should be, Russert stood as the last great hope in journalism, never afraid to take anyone to task.

I also like how he stayed away from his views and remained neutral. I'm only 16, but the guy was great. It's sad after last Sunday he said "We'll see you back here next week" and a shame it had to be before fathers day. Great family man.
I am truly shocked.
