Allright, so I would like to consider myself pretty strong. Not the strongest but definitely not weak. I've been lifting pretty hardcore for the past 2-3 months, and was still lifting 2-3 nights a week before now where I'm doing something almost everyday.
Here's my dilemma. '
I don't feel like I'm getting bigger in my arms. My chest is getting bigger with benching and my legs look like they should for squatting a little over 300 pounds (strong legs run in the family). I work my biceps and triceps all the time, but I just don't see myself getting any bigger there. I know they are getting stronger because I move up in weight like I should, but I just don't see them getting bigger.
After I do my curls for the day, my arms feel tight and I see a little bit of growth, but then, after about 20 minutes, my arms aren't tight anymore, and it looks like I'm back to where I started. I'm 5'7 so it has nothing to do with me being tall or anything like that. I'm built pretty solid for my height, it's just those damn arms.
I recently gave up pop because I heard it's bad if you are trying to get bigger. Is there any truth to that? I eat pretty healthy too.
I mean, does anyone know how to make your arms bigger? Or is my mind just playing tricks on me because I'm expecting too much too fast?

Would help you, but my lifting coach does not care how "big" you get since it's trivial in lifting more weight.

I think it depends on your diet. You may be eating healthy but if you aren't getting certain food groups that may hamper your cause.

Lawnmower pulls, dumbell incline, etc. Don't forget to stretch them before and after lifting though. Try drinking some of those disgusting shakes... tastes like shit but really helps. Sidenote: You trying to play college ball someday Spartan? Yeah, possibly GVSU. I don't think I'll be tall enough for D-1. JTR, I'm no expert either. That's why I'm asking the questions.

Yeah.. JTR is right here. Work out your lower body one day then focus on the upper body.

When I was in high school our coach made us drink a raw egg everyday in the summer. I think it helped us get stronger.
What is your max at the bench?

drinking raw eggs is retarded its doesn't anything that eating a cooked egg can do.
The best thing I have found for building size in the biceps and triceps is these exercises:
Bi's:
- preacher curl - 21's with a curl bar (basically you put on like 20-25 pounds on each side of a curl bar and then do a modified version of standing curls - first do a curl halfway down 7 times then put the bar all the way down and do a half curl up 7 times, then just do a normal curl 7 times. the 3 exercises 7 times are what makes it 21's)
Tri's:
- skullcrushers (if you don't know what these are pm me) - reverse 21's on the tricep curl machine (basicallly the same as bicep 21's) - over the head tricep press (take a dumbell and put it around the back of your head with your arms at about 90- degrees or so and then using only your triceps lift the weight until you arms are straight)

Dont drink pop it is bad for you if your trying to build muscle I gave it up three years ago. I would suggest getting some creatine (the anabolic switch kind) you can find it at GNC for about 40 bucks and that shit will build you up like no other.

Does consuming raw eggs prevent the absorption of a certain vitamin in your body?
Also, I am pretty sure that cooking the egg properly will keep most of its nutrients. If you want to risk salmonella to keep those few proteins, go for it. However, the side effects like chills, dehydration, and diarrhea may slow down your workout routine.

When you cook anything, the proteins break down to some extent. You can physically see this happening in an egg, as it turns white and solid when cooked. No doubt an egg loses the original structure of their proteins when cooked.
My question is, why drink a raw egg when there's protein shakes and what not out there. I don't see why it'd be needed. Just...not for me.

The average healty teen will most likely never catch salmonella. The ones that are most at risk are the old, young children, and people infected with HIV.

Allright cooljay, thanks. I knew you would know something about it. How many sets for 21's? I think I know skull crushers, but PM me in case if you could.
Turnin, I figured pop could affect muscles so I figured it would probably be best to give it up. How much of a difference does it make?
Clayton, my bench max is about 175, but ive never been able to bench that much.
Also, isn't it good to work biceps with your shoulders? triceps with chest? and should you do all of those every other day to allow it to expand like JTR said? Or should I do triceps, chest, etc. one day, and then biceps and shoulders the next? or should I just do all my upper body one day, and lower the next?
thanks for the help guys, keep it coming.

And I can't be blamed for the oil in colorado comment I'm not even american and besides I had never even heard of oil being anywhere but texas/southern states in the US
