NCAA 09 Impressions

Got my game and will play it in a lil while.

Mine just got put into motion being shipped from gamefly just a few minutes ago so I should have my copy when I return home from work tomorrow.

Ok finished my first game. Beat Georgia Tech in OT with USF. And boy does Tech love to run the ball lol. Game would be an instant classic as well.

Stats looked realistic. Played on All-American with sliders adjusted on kickoffs and field goals. Tech has 189 total yards of offense. USF had 238. Rallied from a 14 point whole in the 4th to come back and win the game.

Positives
-Much improved graphics/playermodels/fields
-Wide open gameplay.
-Atmosphere.
-New animations/tackles

Negatives
-WRs may speed up to catch the ball....and im talking about QUICK. I threw a pass down the middle and my WR somehow burst to the ball to make the grab.

-Skating players.....I had Matt Grothe skate on a scramble as I was running down the sidelines.

-Boring commentary as usual.

Overall, I like what I am seeing but playing an Instant classic on my first try prolly helped as well. Much better game that 08, which I skipped on last year. Also, I downloaded DT Linder's rosters and havent had a problem with em so far. I know he updated them. Havent seen a glitch yet.

Blaze, I have a question. How much pressure can you get on the QB with your front four? I'm hearing people are having problems getting pressure on the computer QB and if they do, it's an automatic dump-off for a short gain. That is about as annoying to me as the computer converting 72% of their 3rd and 10+ last year (I had a notebook and that's the average over a season of 14 games).

I actually have been able to get to the QB quite a bit, but I was playing Notre Dame so I don't know if they just suck.

I like the game a lot. I'll really have to play a whole game later tonight to know for sure, but I'm not dominating on Varsity either, but that's prolly because I'm playing as Michigan State against good schools. So I'll let ya know.

I downloaded Pasta's from NJpapi and haven't had a problem either. I messed with every single players equipment too on MSU.

BTW, if you are looking for a small school with a nice stadium, Western Michigan is the way to go.

I had no problems with pressure really. Sure there'll be dump offs but that only occurs when I stack the middle in order to stop the run. I've pretty much been playing as South Florida and have put the squeeze on the QB not only with George Selvie but the others on the D-Line. However, I cant get a sack for shit with USF lol.

I also have been playing online and it is real shitty. I played 5 games and three of em lost connection and I was awarded with a big ole Loss. My interenet is great and I've been playing GTA IV and NBA 2K8 online with no problems or lost connections so I dont know what the hell is going on. I would of gotten a win but the dumbass I played against quit the game and I didnt get the win- only stats.

And another thing I hate about online is people play primarily as Ohio State and Georgia. There's over 100 f'n schools in the game and these two are the primary teams used

Oh and customs sounds are totally USELESS. The music will come from your TVs speakers and will be LOUD. It doesnt blend in with the stadium atmosphere at all. Pointless.

Folks, this game isn't perfect, but it's leaps and bounds better than last year's.

I played a 5-min quarter game against KU as Mizzou and won 21-3, but it felt like I really had to work at it to move the ball. As far as stats, both Daniel and Reesing were around 65%, so that's realistic. College atmosphere is well ahead of NCAA08.

My only gripe would be kickoff and punt returns, which are way too easy on both sides. I've noticed the commentary has a few new snippets, but nothing earth-shattering.

I can get good pressure as well (4 sacks), so no problemos there.

My GT is mizzoutigers8 if you want to play. I don't play much online though, so beware.

From playing the demo and now playing the game itself, I'm very satisfied...the gameplay is much improved and some of the added motions in the running game are nice...GT is yankeehtr18 if you're looking to play or get an online dynasty going

Ohio State is god on this game... I can't play with them in dynasty mode this year, they are that good.

I beat Michigan 45-0 on Heisman, beat LSU 31-7 on Heisman, and Florida 55-3 on Heisman.

I cant play online anymore...FUCK IT!

My games keep gettin disconnected and my record is absolute bullshit. 0-8 with a 77% DNF. WTF?!?!

Liek I said earlier, I never had a problem with my connection and ability to play online with other games but I play NCAA 09 and this shit happens? Fukin ridiculous.

whew, after bein pissed for days I fixed my router and online runs smoothly! Won my first three games today!

Aparently it had somethin to do with the DMZ or whatever it is and I had to enable it.
