I care, therefore you should too.
Tigers traded Pudge to the Yankees today for Farnsworth. I approve.

I'd like to go on record saying that this Manny trade business is garbage. He isn't going anywhere.

The three-way trade proposal makes no sense at all for florida. If the Pirates are going to be involved and Florida wants to upgrade at corner outfield, screw the red sox and just trade Hermida + whatever prospects (not stanton) for Bay. They get a guy 7 years younger than Manny who could play for longer than 2 months. This seems obvious.

I wish the Rays would of gotten Bay. But I never expected them to make a move.

Yes, it's true. Boston still has pitching worries, but Jason Bay is Manny without the headache and much younger. Well done by the Red Sox. I'd like to go on record saying that this Manny trade business is garbage. He isn't going anywhere. lol.

Good thing I didn't get a Manny jersey last summer.
In any event, Go Padres!
edit: I can't believe they got rid of both Moss and Hansen..

Hansen stinks and Moss was never going to play here. Much like David Murphy.

I like this trade for the Red Sox. They still could have used some bullpen help though.

I think it was a good trade. Boston got a guy about the same level as Manny but like 7 years younger for a terrible pitcher and some other guy, LA need OF for this season and didnt give up anything of value plus got $$, and no one really cares about pittsburgh anyway.

Jason Bay =/= Manny in terms of production but I think the drama and the attitude being out of the clubhouse may help a bit. The Red Sox have always been pretty good at making worth with what they've got and Bay fits into that pretty well I think. Of course, I hope he totally sucks but that's just my Yankee bias.

Once you factor in defense and baserunning ability there is not much difference.
