I'm glad we have the lowest wealth redistribution in the world, show's we're dong something right. I believe big business being greedy will make for more jobs and that's better than anything welfare can do. Lower taxes on the wealthy means more investment and more spending. It helps our economy and a stronger economy means more jobs and better paying jobs. That is what will help the poor, more than welfare ever will. I'm not against helping people in need, because I hate to think anyone out there is suffering. It's just the free market can do the job better. Ship that. I dont know why people would rather have the government take money from the wealthy instead of letting them spend their money and putting it back into the economy. That's how the economy grows. The multiplier effect has a greater impact on direct purchases than government transfers.

Sportsbuck, now I'm finally able to get around to your friend's opinion. I'll first refer you to a nice little op-ed in the WSJ a few weeks ago. online.wsj.com/article/SB121668579909472083.htmlShelby Smith makes a fantastic point midway through the piece, one that I feel hits the nail on the head. Obama has become a cultural symbol. He's a black candidate, but one that white people can get behind. He removed the moral stigma on whites, not trying to beat them down because of the racist past. This has brought more white people to the table than ever. He still is able to stand as an inspirational person to African-Americans, as a man who could be the leader of a majority white nation. Obama is a symbol. A symbol of change in the culture and more importantly in our dialogue about race in America. Obama is more a cultural change than a political one. Really, he's not a change politically at all. He's no different than Gore, Kerry, Clinton, Mondale, ect in terms of being a politician. Obama is now and will for the rest of the campaign be all that matters. The vote this time around is a vote on Obama, for or against.

Neither of the candidates really excite me but if I was forced to choose I'd pick Obama.

Honestly what anyone says isn't going to change my vote. I'm for and always will be for Obama.

Honestly what anyone says isn't going to change my vote. I'm for and always will be for Obama. I've known you awhile and one thing I don't get is that when you set your mind in favor of something, NOTHING, no matter how negative, changes your opinion. Not sure if that's good or bad.

People can say what they want but it isn't gonna change what I think or want because well frankly its not the other persons opinion, Its mine.

No, I mean I could give facts saying that Obama helped pull off 9/11 and you still wouldn't sway.

Just because I want to vote for someone and nothing will change why I want to vote for someone isn't why the system fails. It shows the exact principle this country was founded on, Freedom. Bama has the freedom to vote for who he wants, as does Keeper, so do I. Just because I've made my decision doesn't me any less of a citizen.

I believe what David was getting at is that Robb was saying that nothing will sway his vote for Obama. Which is why I made my point about him never changing his mind no matter the negative points made.

I heard a guy in a McDonalds saying if Obama wins then America is going to start a race war.
This stuff kinda annoys me. Everyone makes a big deal when McCain goes to the doctors. I think lifes to short to stay on the internet, watching CNN, or reading the newspaper 24/7 to see when McCain took a shit or when Obama brushed his teeth.

I'm more than likely not voting. What's the point when you don't care for either candidate?

I have trouble seeing any lesser evil between these two though. I rather just be able to say I didn't vote for whoever the idiot in office is gonna be when everybody's saying how much worse he is from Bush (which I know seems unimaginable but I honestly believe we're heading for some worse times).

Of course, sometimes people forget that there are more than two candidates. Of course, in Pennsylvania, there might only be two candidates.

You know as well as I do that voting for the other candidates is pointless. Sorry but my one vote isn't going to make the third candidate suddenly have a chance..
