In reality, I do support Barack Obama over John McCain. However, come election day I will likely vote third party or something like that. I don't enjoy everything about Obama. If I had to choose either major party candidate, I choose him.

What are some of the key issues that influenced your choice?

I think most people will be able to figure out who I'm voting for.

For me I would go: 1. Obama / Biden (D) 2. Moore / Alexander (S-USA) 3. Nader / Gonzales (I) 4. Calero / Kennedy (SWP) 5. McKinney / Clemente (G) 6. Barr / Root (L)

Obama because America is ready for change and he will lead the way. He'll give America a shot in the arm. He's a tremendous leader and someone a lot of people can relate to when it comes to his upbringing and his ideas. And because I support the Democrats and dont want to see McCain in office

I hate to be a negative nancy, or just an arrogant prick, but there seem to be twelve options on this poll, and even an "other" selection if you like someone more obscure than the Boston Tea Party candidate. Seems like you have a lot more than two evils to pick the lesser of.

Doesn't mean you shouldn't push for a third party candidate. That is a huge problem. Even though people don't fully agree with everything a top party candidate says, they still vote for them. They just further the two-party political system problem.

Honestly, it's because the masses are easily swayed. Get a popular and charismatic person and you can sway an entire demographic (women, black's, hispanics, whatever). So knowing that an entire race/sex is going to be voting for one person, its pretty easy to figure that voting for a third party, you're voting for someone who's so far in the whole it's ridiculous.

Oh I agree the masses are easily swayed. However, it doesn't take the majority to make an impact. If people like you, who clearly see there is a problem, step up and vote for a candidate that fully represents them instead of a major candidate who doesn't fully represent them, it would make an impact. By voting for a major party candidate because you feel it is ridiculous not to, puts you right there with the masses who are voting for the wrong reasons.

Over/Under: 90% of candidates actually don't give a shit about 'God' but say they do to appeal to voters.
Pretty much when I hear someone mention that the Iraq war was a task from God it just makes me scratch my head. Look, I am atheist, but I don't think any "God" fellow would want violence like the Iraq war. Maybe I am wrong, but I think somebody who actually followed God would get that.
Also, kudos to Rage Against the Machine for being better for politics than Kanye West or any other false celebrity endorser like that.

Anyone that mentions that the Iraq war was an act from God needs to be immediately institutionalized.

I just don't like how McCain really does support a lot of Bush's ideas...
So I'd go with Obama because voting 3rd party is somewhat pointless
