This is going to be very bad, folks. I hate to say it, but we're looking at 20+ foot storm surges near Galveston.

Well, the worst case scenario didn't materialize, as a tiny northward wobble saved Galveston Island's arse and caused Ike to inundate less populous areas just to the east. Still, Houston/Galveston metro area is a real mess, and this was a very bad storm.

32 dead so far across nine states, and I see that rising substantially. Rescuers have not been able to reach the hardest-hit areas just east of Galveston. As many as 400 people are unaccounted for on the Bolivar Peninsula, where storm surge washed across literally the entire island.

How did you guys make out during the storm? I was w/o power for like 12 hours, for 8 of them I was asleep. So it was all good
