Looks like Wall Street is in panic mode. I'm not a huge fan of the bailout as is and I'm glad it didn't pass. I needs to be re-worked and then passed. People are way too panicy over this. We've got weeks to shore this up before things get way too crazy. Sit back, don't jump the gun, and fix the problem the best way we can.
If we don't, it's going to get ugly. If we go ahead with this bailout though, short-term we'll be ok but it will cause oodles of problems in the long run. Needless to say though, I'm glad I'm sitting in cash right now!!!

For the record, Dow had its third-highest point gain ever today.
The world has not yet ended.

Financial Armageddon anyone? Our financial situation is getting ugly fast. The fed's cut did nothing to help the problem and neither did the bailout. We're looking a serious situation with credit. The credit markets are frozen! Iceland had to get a loan to bail them out of their debt. The russian stock markets were haulted today, thanks in part to a 14% drop in the first hour of trading! The good news is short selling can begin again tomorrow. That gives us a little bit of a floor to avoiding a single day crash. Make no mistake though...this is starting to look really really bad.

The bailout not working surprises you? Correct me if I'm wrong, but it hasn't even taken effect yet either.

Look at the long term bond yeilds, the markets ain't buying the bailout. Oh and I'm a bit suprised it didn't loosen up the credit markets a bit. Though not shocked it's a huge fail.

Capitulation! There is finally real panic on Wall Street. The overall pattern hasn't bottomed, but I'm expecting a bottom based on capitulation coming in the next few days. This drop has been stupid fast. So the day traders on here, start picking up shares for a short bounce. At least I will be.

So the Dow Jones had a 1,000 point trading range today. At around 1:45 eastern it was sitting at 7,882 and by 3:30 it was at 8,901. Absolutely insane! Volatility is off the charts. The S&P looks more like some .com company back in the 90s. Have fun anyone invested right now...this is crazy.
