Scouting Report:
Benhoff was virtually invisible during his senior recruiting year. Playing in the tough Oklahoma 6A level the PC North Panthers didn't get into the playoffs and Benhoff went unnoticed. He got 2 offers to walk-on at University of Texas and Tulsa University and a scholarship offer to play Safety at University of Texas-El Paso.
Finally deciding to take the junior college route and headed to Brenham, TX where the Blinn College Buccaneers were heading into a high JUCO ranking after a strong season before. After getting the starting job as a freshman, Benhoff started to turn heads and showed his true talents helping Blinn make it to the SJCFC (Southwestern Junior College Football Conference) championship ending up losing to Kilgore College 21-20. Again testing the recruiting waters Benhoff plans to see where he can end up on a FBS team.
His style is very homerun, speedy, stretch style. He isn't going to blow through defenders with his power but has soft hands catching the ball, knows his blocking schemes and can help if moved to the slot. He has the knack to move the ball at will and get the yards needed to move defenders to the line for a passing strike. Benhoff's biggest weakness is his power and it shows when he gets panicked. He could be a great defensive back but his subborn attitude to stick to running back is what is holding back from being a FBS player. He is a quiet player when it comes to leadership. Although not one to point fingers, he isn't one to get in someone's face to motivate.
