So...SEC overrated? Just a little bit? Can we finally say it? Yea they're 5-1 right now in bowls but ECU just choked so they should be 4-2..a Bama loss would make it 4-3 and UF can lose and would've made them 4-4. Not impressed and at some point or another I'd love to see the media quit kissing the SEC's ass. The SEC was weak this year. weve known that besides florida the sec was weak all year. You cant really go off non-BCS bowl results since the teams arent playing for anything (especially the big conference teams who had disappointing seasons to be there) and some dont care at all as long as they get their check and goodie bag.

methinks that unless florida/ou is an epic blowout utah should be #1 in the AP.

We'll never know either because we'll never have a playoff system to prove something worth recognizing. Then again...the AP doing that would cause some fun and more bashing of the BCS but that should come regardless.

Bama and Tex Tech felt they got screwed in the BCS and prolly felt they had nothing to play for. Both teams should of won considering what they done all year but if they arent hungry for a trophy, they're fucked. Thats what happened today.

Yeah, I said that.
And I still believe the rest of the top 10 would.
They faced an Alabama team that is downright terrible at the skill positions outside of Julio Jones (Especially on the defensive side of the ball, those DB's are terrible) and without their best OL... and yes folks, Smith is that big of a loss for Alabama. Alabama played one good team all year and got beat, they were overrated as hell.

So apparently, that is now amended to say....Utah would get curbstomped by anyone in the top 10, excluding Alabama.
Right, now we're getting somewhere.

Because Alabama really isn't a top 10 team... by ranking they are of course and I'll give that to Utah. But they were extremely overrated all year, played one good team and lost to them, were without their best OL, and had a terrible secondary, and JPW is... is... well, lets just say I'd take Justin Feagin over him.

Sportsbuck, you're being stupid now. Sure, Alabama wasn't the #1 team in the nation but name someone outside the top 10 you honestly believe is better than them. They gave Florida a run for their money in the SEC Championship so let's stop with the bullshit denial in how good Utah might be (and how wrong you were as well as well..pretty much all of us) and admit that Utah did nothing less than prove we need a playoff and that a mid-major can compete with the BCS schools...again. As if Boise State doing it wasn't enough, Utah REALLY beat Alabama.

Despite what Utah and BSU have done, you will never convince me that non-BCS schools deserve to be National Champions, or in the NC game.
I still don't think Utah is #1.
Even with the playoff, do you really find the NC that way? What if Ball State went undefeated and got into the "playoff". What if they won? Could you really consider Ball State to be the best team in the NCAA? Could you really call them National Champions after playing in the MAC?

JPW is... is... well, lets just say I'd take Justin Feagin over him. Ok SB now your getting a head of yourself. Settle down. Bama went undefeated in SEC play until they lost to Florida. That's still impressive IMO. They just had the case of BCS hangover.

Utah deserves to be the champion after finishing undefeated with 4 wins over top 25 teams, the same number of top 25 wins that Florida would have if they beat Oklahoma except florida has a loss. The only team that would deserve it more than Utah is Oklahoma if they beat Florida.

If Ball State could manage to beat 3-4 legitimately teams (depending on the playoff size), you bet your ass I could consider them as champion and #1 in the country. If the playoff system was structured correctly, there would be no way to argue and you can even do everything while still keeping the other bowls for the sake of having them since they need the sponsor money and stuff.
