Is high school the way it's depicted in Hollywood?

This has bugged me and I've never really bothered to get a real answer about it.

The whole "freaks and geeks" idea behind high school depicted on tv and movies, is that how it is? My high school wasn't like that at all. Sure there were certain groups like geeks and such i suppose here and there but most people got along pretty well and we all interacted with each other. There weren't bullies or anything ridiculous like that and I guess that's the biggest one that bugs me.

The whole Jocks vs. Geeks idea..where is it? Does it exist? Because I never saw it in my high school and my high school was not small by any means. The only stereotype within Hollywood that i see may be your goth kids who do really ACT like they hate everyone and everything, dress in all black, so forth. Even those kids those I've befriended before and saw that they weren't like the people they tried to pretend they were.

There were cliques but they weren't "preps", "jocks", "skaters", or even "punks"..most kids meshed together pretty well. This is becoming a babbling mess so..what is/was your high school like?

I don't know my school had The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wasteoids, dweebies, dickheads..they all adored me. They all think I'm a righteous dude.

Oh wait.

They can't make a real high school movie cause it would be boring as fuck and it would just be people walking around waiting to get out of there..You have to make a movie interesting for people to go in a shape or form. High School is in real life is boring and that's what a realistic high school film would be about.

It's exaggerated, but definitely exists, the boundaries just aren't as clean as they are made in movies.

Thanks dickhead. Considering half the people answered this proper way I wanted it to be answer (you know, not that high school in movies is real 100% but that the aspects such as cliques, bulllies and so forth like what they show do exist but are simply exaggerated, a lot at times)...I didn't need your sarcastic answer because you're on the rag this week.
