This is directed at the more musically-inclined members of this forum, although I think most of you could be considered that.
I'm going to be starting my own music review site, and I've decided that instead of tusing worn-out letter grades, or scales of one-to-ten, I'm going to invent my own rating system. And this is where I need your input.
Here's the framework I've developed: several categories (Production, melodies, lyrics, originality, performance (shitty bands can ruin good songs, believe me), ideally adding up to 100. Also ideally, a reader would be able to do a little math and weight the categories for their preferences and come up with their own customized album score.
So what I need from you is -- any other suggestions for categories? And more importantly, any suggestions on how to weight the categories (by that I mean, how many points shall I allot to each?)
