 So what are your thoughts on this cartoon? In my opinion, it is racist and in bad taste considering previous references to Barack Obama as a monkey. However, I feel people are quickly calling it racist and overlooking the possible fact that the monkey (which one in captivity went wild recently) is a representation of what a conservative (the New York Post being a more conservative newspaper) would call "wild" spending by President Obama's stimulus package. The reaction also seems to say a lot about our culture in that we do not see Barack Obama as a Democratic or liberal President, but as a black President first. |

people are so stupid. it implies that the bill was so horrible that it could have been written by a chimp, not that obama is a chimp. he didnt even write the bill anyway and is alive the last time i checked so it makes no sense at all. the funny thing is that its only the people who claim to be against racism that are the ones who automatically associate a monkey with a black person. Those of us who live in the now dont fucking care.
