I wish someone in the sports media would do 5 seconds of research to figure out that Greg Paulus will never see meaningful action unless all scholarship QB's are murdered AND disfigured.
He has a .00000000000000001% chance of seeing the field at all and is a venture which has no risk. Enough of talking about it; it makes Michigan look like shit unneccessarily.

My how the mighty have fallen. Forcier scares me, all 6'0 150 of him. Smaller than McGoofy and we all know what happened to him. Here's to finding another QB next year. "It's okay we'll just wait until DickRod has his players. Forget all the top 10 recruiting classes. Lloyd left the cupboard bare!!! His system is the hardest to learn ever for realz. Forcier was just a band-aid at best. We didn't really want him. Gardner is our real savior!!!!!111111" Signed, Okay, I had to get some shots in. In all seriousness JTR, I really think UM footall is in bad shape with this guy at the helm. He doesn't represent Michigan at all. The defense was terrible last year, so you bring in Greg freakin Robinson. Who knows maybe he's better as a coordinator. Also, aren't you a little bit worried with those 5'9 receivers and backs in the Big11? I know I would be. They are going to get wrecked! Especially Forcier. I went to the UM spring game with a friend and the kid is a twig. May have worked in the BE, but idk about the B11. Just a hunch. I don't know man. I liked Lloyd. Rod just seems like he needed to stay in the Big East. I don't see him having the same success. I think he'll win some ball games, but I don't think UM will ever be the power they once were with him. Just my two cents.

Settle down peple, it'll take a while before Rich Rod has Michigan rolling. He still needs to find the right players for his system. I think they'll be bowl eligble this season (no major bowl) but the 2010-2011 season will make or break him. If he establishes a kickass spread offense like he had in WVU, then the Big 11 better look out

Just my two cents. This is why everyone thinks you're an idiot. Forcier is a twig because he's a fuckin' freshman. He'll be far more competent than Sheridan or Threet. He's incredibly accurate, adequately mobile and keeps himself out of trouble. I'll take that kind of QB any day. Really, a shot at McGuffie? Great. He's no longer with the team, but I think we'll do just fine with Brandon Minor, who was tearing it up in the second half of the season. You liked Lloyd? Retarded statement from an MSU fan considering Lloyd owned MSU. From a UM standpoint, RichRod respects the right parts of tradition but it was time for a change, plain and simple. The previous 30 years featured a staff that basically thought that if they lined up and told the other team what they were doing, they'd win because of who they were. We can't do that. I like that Rich is recruiting quick, athletic players. Last year sucked, but Rich walked into a bad situation. He's got some great athletes on the way and things will be improved this year. By the way, those Spartans are really looking up, aren't they? Enjoy your 7 wins and years of mediocrity--at least Michigan is TRYING to change. But wait: that would imply that you actual cared about the Spartans instead of just hating on Michigan.

Oh ok, I got it. I can't talk about my team at all because Spartan The Tool will say something stupid, inciting an argument. I must have missed that section of the rules.

Michigan's offense may eventually be fine this year, but that defense is going to be absolutely horrendous.
JTR what the hell are you talking about in regards to MSU? Dantonio has changed that program from the ground up and has made them extremely competitive in recruiting in the midwest, especially in Michigan and Ohio. They are on the up and up and will be a thorn in Michigan's side for years to come.
@ Spartan about Greg Robinson: He wasn't a great coordinator at Texas or anything like that..
On another note, I'd like to send a personal letter to Rich Rodriguez thanking him for Justin Boren... Boren just didn't have any work ethic and obviously couldn't take Barwis.

Way to take the first part of my response seriously JTR. Jesus christ.
As far as McGuffie was concerned, I was using him as a fucking example. Calm the fuck down. Yes, Forcier is a freshman. So was fucking McGoofy who was fuckin bigger and got fuckin wrecked! Did I say he wouldn't get bigger? No dumbshit.
Like sportsbuck said, you must have been sleeping during last football season. I think we had nine wins maybe? Oh yeah. We did.
Ask me anything you want to know about MSU football. Just because I stayed on topic in here means that I just follow Michigan? Nice logic you fuckin dumbass.
Lloyd, um did I say I liked the winning against MSU he did? No. Once again putting words into my mouth. I meant more as an individual. Always had a good head on his shoulders and did a lot in the community.
Did I ever say this was going to happen? No. I said my opinions on it. I said in my eyes, it was a good chance. Calm the fuck down.
See you're getting defensive because you are embarrassed. I know deep down all UM football fans are nervous. Whether you admit it or not. You're not used to this shit. You keep telling yourself Rod is going to make it better because of Tulane and WV, but deep down you know the B11 is a totally different ball game.
BTW Sportsbuck, I have never followed Greg Robinson except for Syracuse, which is why I said maybe he's better as a coordinator.

I'm embarrassed that a story that shouldn't getting press is getting it. No one in their right mind thinks that Paulus has any chance of starting. Like I said: it's an unnecessary story that makes Michigan look bad for no reason. Nervous? Look, I'm a diehard fan. I follow everything from recruiting to spring ball. But am I nervous about a team I have nothing to do with performing well? Absolutely not. They could go 0-12 and aside from the sucky part of hearing it from dickhead Ohio State fans, it wouldn't be terrible because at the end of the day, I have nothing to do with it. And honestly, my response is more a frustration with you. I don't understand why you can be generally normal in every other section of the boards but once you hit the CFB thread, your brain shuts off. Stop acting like a fuckhead for 10 seconds, stop posting on everything Michigan unless you have a valid point to make (like SB, who in all honesty has grown on me). I expressed a legit concern and made my point. You just blather on about how RichRod is a dick (which, really, you have no proof on) and how because the big 10 is smash mouth (which its shifting away from, incase you haven't noticed) that his offense will fail. Be smart for once in your life and just don't post unless you have something of value to say. /rant

Like I said: it's an unnecessary story that makes Michigan look bad for no reason. The fact that they are even considering shows that their team is a joke right now. If Michigan State was trying out a QB from basketball one year, your ass would be all over it and you know it. No chance to start? Well if he has a chance to compete, obviously he has a little bit of a chance. Whatever makes you feel better. I know deep down you're scared he will run your program into the ground. Why else would all your fans be so upset with everything Dantonio says? Michigan fans are on the defensive right now whether you believe it or not. Maybe not you, but your fanbase as a whole is nervous. Oops. My bad. I forgot my life isn't complete without your approval. Oops. I must have missed where I talked about RichRod being a dick... hmm... oh yeah you're putting words in my mouth again. I have no proof? Why don't you go ask all the people who have said it about him. I haven't said shit about him. Find where I did in my two previous posts, then we'll talk. And I think the Big 10 is a little tougher than the Big Least. I'm not talking about offense. Duh, Purdue, NW, UM, Indiana, Minnesota have all gone spread. I watch Big 10 football you idiot. I'm talking about fucking big ass linebackers against the 5'6 170 pound runningbacks you have coming in. You had better size in McGuffie and he lasted less than a year. Yes I know he's not on the team anymore, I'm using it as an example so don't have your period. It was my opinion based on what has already happened. Did I say that it for sure that it wouldn't work? No. So find it if I did. Calm down for five fuckin seconds and find out that the 2nd part of my first post in this thread (the non-joking part) and you'll see that I wasn't even insulting you at all.

I'm just going to throw this out there, but UM's scout site reported Paulus was no longer being pursued about an hour before JTR started this thread.
On another note, the Big Ten is on the up and up. Continue to mock if you please (And I would considering our bowl record and the reputation we have) but the Big Ten has gotten so much better in terms of coaches and guys who can flat out recruit. Zook, Brewster, Dantonio, Rodriguez, and Tom Bradley is still holding his ground as best as possible with an 83 year old head coach.
I'm going off on a tangent here, but if Ohio State had won its big games the Big 10 wouldn't face nearly the media scrutiny that they do now. You know why people respect the Pac-10? Thier big dog dominates big games.

The Big Ten gets no respect in any sport. Michigan State made it to the national championship game and still got no respect. People said they would lose to USC. Won that. Kansas no way. Won that. Got lucky vs Kansas, wouldn't beat Louisville. Won that. Louisville just had an off night. UConn is where the Spartans fall. Won that. But Big 10 basketball as a whole was highly competitive this year and got no respect.
As for football, it boils down to the bowls plain and simple. I wish it wasn't that way, but it is. People think the Big 10 is just "three yards and a cloud of dust" still when it's really only Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Ohio State if they want too. People think the B10 is ugly because they have built that reputation.
Now days, people want to see a shit load of points, not good defense, therefore the Big Ten loses.

Putting MSU in as a dominant power house with with OSU and Wisconsin after 1 year of success is a bit preposterous dont you think... Anyways, I think Dantonio will continue to build the program and they should be very tough over the course of the next decade or so... I also think with time, RichRod will have Michigan rolling again, id love to see the MSU - Michigan and Michigan OSU rivalry back again... From a fellow big ten guy, I am rooting for them both to have success

He means that those three are the only "three yards and a cloud of dust" schools. And the reason they have that repuation is that it's been that way throughout a good part of the Big Ten's history. Plus, MSU, Wisconsin, and OSU are the teams on TV all the time.
