Lot of trades that went down the last few days....thoughts?
-Spurs trade Bowen, Kurt Thomas, and Oberto to Bucks for Richard Jefferson.
-Bucks then trade Oberto to Pistons for Amir Johnson.
-Wiz trade #5 pick, Etan Thomas, Darius Songaila, and Oleksi Pecherov to T-Wolves for Randy Foye and Mike Miller (as a wiz fan I love this deal!)
-Cleveland trades two scrubs, 2nd round pick, and $500 k to Phoenix for Shaq.
-Nets trade Ryan Anderson and Vince Carter to Orlando for Courtney Lee, Rafer, and Tony Battie.

My thoughts. Orlando, Phoenix, and Washington arent done dealing. Wiz need a big man still and I rather we draft one with or 2nd rounder and sign him for cheap. Orlando also needs a big man...better yet make it men because their only post presence is Dwight. Battie provided some depth.

Oberto, for note, will never suit up for the Pistons. He's going to be cut. Purely a cap move.

Lawson's getting traded to Denver. soo.....what do you think about Austin Daye? In five years, this will either look like one of the most tremendous steals of the draft or a huge waste of a pick. Daye is boom-or-bust big time, especially considering he's a 6-11 190lb twig. At the very least, we won't need to rely on him immediately. He's got a tremendous shot, though.

The sad thing about the NBA Draft is almost every player is a boom-or-bust player. Very few have been a sure thing, most either become role players or not playing at all.

A lot of drafts are like this but the NBA has yeilded some pretty good draft classes as of late. 2003, 2007, and 2008 were real good. This class though is horrendous. Hell, I doubt Blake Griffin will be very good. The only players I see panning out real well are James Harden, Toney Douglas, Sam Young, and maybe Ty Lawson.

Yao is out all of next season. Rockets dont have a true center now lol. Maybe they'll sign Rasheed but still, they need more big men.

Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva to Detroit. Now we just need to find a way to get Okafor and Ray Allen and hire Jim Calhoun as coach and we'll be the UConn Huskies.

So much for Joe Dumars pursuing the big name free agents in 2010 If that's what you thought was going to happen, you were wrong - Dumars has made it as clear as day since November that he was going to retool this offseason, not next. And quite frankly, I don't blame him. He's a buyer in a seller's market, and it's paying off - he plucked two of the best players off the market in one day. I have no complaints. Also, we're almost definitely going to have Avery Johnson coaching next year.

Bored.....
Artest signs 3 year, $18 mil deal with Lakers = bargain
Anderson Vaereflop signs 5 year, $50 mil with Cavs= not a bargain
Ariza to the Rockets for 5 mil = same pay he'd get with Lakers. Guess he wanted change of scenery.
8 player deal that pretty much sends Shawn Marion to Mavs, Turkoglu to raptors, and cash to magic
Bibby stays a hawk
Detroit hires some dude that helped coach LeBrick
Boston signs Rasheed. Celtics = nba retirement home
Amare off trade market

The only way Artest could possibly be a bargain is if he paid the Lakers. And hell, even then he may not be worth it.
