Am I the only person who generally tips over 15%? Unless they are a real asshole, I feel 15% is somewhat shitty to give for someone doing their job well.

20% usually. I think the worst I've ever done is 3 cents, because she was rude, got my order wrong and smelled funny.

It depends on what I got as well and where I went, when, you know all that good stuff. If I get good service at a slow place at lunch, I'll generally drop a tip near equal to the bill. I'll be one of two people on that shift and they won't make jack shit if I tip 25% on a 7.00 tab. So I'll throw down six or seven.

Even for shitty service, I tip 15%. Standard is between 20-25% for me.
BSTN-- I tipped this dude 28 cents once because the guy seated us, told us he'd be back and never came back. Saw him waiting on other tables. Didn't show up again until it was time to give us the bill.

I tip 25-35% usually...
One time we were at a mongolian grill so its kinda get your own food, so the waiter got our drinks and didnt come back until we walked up to the front after an hour and ask for our bill....we tipped nothing in a group of 6

There is no chance a majority of teen/early 20's males tip over, if not well over, 20% consistently. I'm not singling a single person out... I wouldn't doubt if one or two did... but the odds/percentages say there is no chance all of you all tip great - so I call bullshit. Myself, I'll tip 15-20%, sometimes 25% if the service is great but it better be f'in amazing. But now that I say this, I realize most of y'all are "tipping" off of cheap one person meals where you're probably leaving $10 on a $8 bill - therefore 25%. And again, before everyone gets their panties in a bunch... most - not all. I'm sure some of you are big ballas every now and then - but you're also not spending $30+ on most meals and leaving $10+ tips every time. |
