On this day, the Detroit Tigers pulled a NY Mets and allowed the Twins to come out of nowhere to win the AL Central. On this day, the heart of a young and devouted Tigers fan was smashed and flushed down a toilet....along with a couple ALDS tickets for Tigers-Yankees.

I'm not even mad. I don't know how you can be after that game.
They had plenty of chances. They didn't convert. Could they have won? Several times, sure. But they didn't, and Minnesota finally took advantage.
As for the choke, I contend they did not choke. Blowing a 3 game lead with 4 to go? That's a choke. But the Tigers played to their season win percentage during September while the Twins went 17-4 in their last 21. That's just an insane streak, and not much you can do about it. And honestly, after the way they both played today, saying anyone choked is a really ridiculous notion.
So no, I'm not dead. Fairly disappointed, and definitely disappointed that I won't be attending any playoff games, but not dead, nor heartbroken really. Quite possibly the greatest game I've ever seen.

Wow, nice perspective. Because if my most favorite team (Dallas Cowboys, Rays, Wizards) lost a game where the winner takes all, I'd be tempted to off myself.

I guess it's because I went in thinking they could absolutely win but very prepared for it to go the other way.
And honestly, that was among the best, if not the best game I've ever seen. It's a lot harder to be crushed after such an incredible ballgame.

From what I've been reading, I missed an epic game. I caught a few innings and left just after Cabrera put the Twins up 4-3.
And something I never thought I'd do--I feel for DB. *shudders*

Tough to swallow. But at least it's going to be the Twins getting swept by New York and not us. I'd probably be angrier if I thought we actually had a chance in the postseason, too.
I'm taking this a lot better than I expected. Which leads me to believe I have a bunch of pent-up emotion and I'm going to wake up in the middle of the night cursing Gerald Laird's name and I'll have to be committed.

Who wants to visit DB in the mental ward? We should organize a trip for it.
