If we ranked by uniforms, though, we'd have a Oregon-Wyoming title game every year.

I'll post the bracket after the official BCS pairings are announced. I have the bracket done and all, I just want to make sure everyone is sufficiently pissed over the BCS before I post it. Sup?

Omg.
A google search of "dynasty central" brings me back to a place I once loved. The familiar names, the banter...it's all still here!
DB, I have hijacked your thread to give you a hello, old friend. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your thoughts. As well, hello to everyone else. Seems like just yesterday I was refreshing my dynasty pages constantly waiting for another rating from you all.

Wouldn't be the first or last thing Canada has lost access to. Where's CoolJay?? He was all about the Oh Canada much like myself. I've flipped through some of the topics. Post picture of yourself thread, random thoughts thread, ignorance about Roy Halladay's credibility in MLB thread.... Yep. Not toooo too much has changed, haha.

Nothing ever changes around here. Dynasty Central's like a backwater northeastern town. Looking rustic and cute on the outside, but inside it's really all the folks that couldn't gather themselves enough to leave, living their lives quite monotonously. We're just waiting for either old age to kill us off or something from the outside to breathe life into the place. It's why we look at all of you outsiders a bit funny when you come back.
Can we change the name of Dynasty Central to Starkfield, Mass.?

And we're off. Boise State 27, Penn State 10whatifsports.com/ncaafb/boxscore.asp?GameID=1519721Boise can still play with the BCS conferences as they overcame a 10-7 halftime deficit, scoring 17 unanswered 4th quarter points to upend the Nittany Lions in spite of Evan Royster's 120 rushing yards. Titus Young shines for the Broncos with 99 yards receiving, including a touchdown catch. Alabama 36, Miami (FL) 10whatifsports.com/ncaafb/boxscore.asp?GameID=1519726Boise gets the matchup they hoped for with the #1 Crimson Tide, who rout the Hurricanes to advance to the Elite Eight. Heisman winner Mark Ingram does everything for Alabama, posting 152 rushing yards and a touchdown and tacking on 60 more receiving yards for good measure. Texas 32, LSU 11whatifsports.com/ncaafb/boxscore.asp?GameID=1519731A marquee Big 12/SEC Sweet Sixteen matchup turned out to be a dud, as LSU was no match for the Big 12 champs. Texas jumped out to a 25-3 lead behind Heisman finalist Colt McCoy (20-26, 256 yds, 3 tds/0 ints) and never looked back. Florida 36, East Carolina 10whatifsports.com/ncaafb/boxscore.asp?GameID=1519734The slipper did not fit for the Conference USA champions, as Florida posted 24 unanswered points in the first quarter to take the Pirates out of the game early. Tim Tebow was outshone by running back Jeffery Demps, who posted 195 yards and two touchdowns on just 14 carries. The Gator victory sets up a marquee matchup between Florida and Texas in the regional final. Cincinnati 37, Wisconsin 21whatifsports.com/ncaafb/boxscore.asp?GameID=1519739The Bearcats were unfazed after falling behind 21-7 early in the second quarter. They posted 30 unanswered points, roaring ahead in the third quarter and never looking back. QB Tony Pike threw for 366 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Cincy victory, hooking up 5 times with Mardy Gilyard for 123 of those yards and one of the touchdowns. Ohio State 44, Arizona 0whatifsports.com/ncaafb/boxscore.asp?GameID=1519741The upset-minded Wildcats were quickly and decisively turned away by the Big Ten champs. Ohio State's ground game overwhelmed a helpless Arizona defense, as Brandon Saine ran for 220 yards and a touchdown, while teammate Daniel Herron added another 179 on the ground and another touchdown. The Buckeyes scored four touchdowns on the ground in total - a stark contrast to Arizona, who picked up just 31 rushing yards on 27 carries as a team and shut out by the stifling Buckeye defense. The Ohio State victory sets up an in-state showdown for a trip to the Final Four as the Buckeyes will meet the Cincinnati Bearcats in the regional final. TCU 56, Stanford 13whatifsports.com/ncaafb/boxscore.asp?GameID=1519747A game which was billed as Heisman finalist Toby Gerhart and the Stanford ground attack versus the top-notch defense of TCU turned into a laugher. The Horned Frogs breezed to a 56-13 win. While Gerhart was relatively successful (131 yards and a touchdown) TCU shut down the rest of the Stanford offense, as QB Andrew Luck was just 13-28 with two interceptions. Not only that, but TCU's Matthew Tucker outshone Gerhart, posting 197 yards and four touchdowns on a mere 16 carries. As a team, the Horned Frogs ran for an astonishing 517 yards on 68 tries. Nebraska 27, Utah 16whatifsports.com/ncaafb/boxscore.asp?GameID=1519754If this tournament has a Cinderella, it's the 6th-seeded Cornhuskers, who are headed to the Elite Eight to face TCU after a comeback victory over the Utes. Utah had a number of chances to expand a fourth quarter lead - including a missed 45 yard field goal - but in the end, the Cornhuskers posted the go-ahead touchdown with 3:42 to go and added an insurance score after picking off Utah's Terrance Cain on the ensuing Ute drive. Utah had another shot late in the game, but were stopped on 4th and goal with 44 seconds to go, ensuring that there would be no dramatic Ute comeback. Nebraska's Roy Helu ran for 213 yards and 2 scores. That said, Utah did what no other team has done thus far this season - neutralize Nebraska's star defensive tackle. Ndamukong Suh was held without a sack in the game. Incidentally, TCU/Nebraska will be the only regional final not featuring the top two seeds in the region. In addition, 4 of the 5 Heisman finalists are still active in the tournament - Stanford's Toby Gerhart is the lone exception, having lost to TCU in the Sweet Sixteen.

An Ode to Fernando RodneyFernando Rodney, my all-time favorite Tiger whipping boy, signed a 2-year contract with the Angels yesterday, ending his reign in Detroit. In addition to realize my need for a new favorite failure, I was moved to recount his tenure with the Tigers. So here's to you, Fernando. I will remember the 2006 season, when, in spite of being one of the Tigers' most solid relievers, you gave up 4 runs on the final day of the season to the Royals, effectively costing the Tigers the division title. I will remember, as a result of this fiasco, Jim Leyland refusing to use you in the ALDS - not even to get one out in the 8th with a 6-0 lead in game three. I will remember game four of the 2006 World Series when you were brought in to protect a one-run lead and, after Curtis Granderson fell down chasing a fly ball in center, you promptly picked up the ensuing sacrifice bunt attempt and threw it over Placido Polanco's head at first base, tying the game. I will remember in the same inning how, after an intentional walk, you proceeded to strike out St. Louis's 2nd and 3rd best hitters - Jim Edmonds and Scott Rolen - before giving up a 2-out go-ahead single to Preston Wilson, of all people. I will remember how, on Opening Day 2007, you gave up two runs in the top of the tenth to ruin the festivities and take the loss. I will remember how you missed the first half of the 2008 season due to injury, and in your first appearance of the season, you gave up 3 runs in 1/3 of an inning and recorded a blown save. In your second appearance, you gave up 2 runs without recording an out and took the loss. I will remember your 2009 season, in which you converted 37/38 save opportunities despite a WHIP over 1.4. I will remember the game I attended in which I sat behind the bullpen. You smiled and waved in my direction and promptly gave up the winning home run to Mike Jacobs in a tie game in the 9th. I will remember how you gave up two runs in the 9th against Tampa Bay but held them off for a 4-3 win and, in your anger/relief, you chucked the ball into the press box at Tropicana Field. You received a three game suspension, and in your place, Brandon Lyon closed out a couple games in 1-2-3 fashion, prompting everyone to wonder why he wasn't closing in the first place. I will remember how you pitched 3+ innings in the tiebreaker game and giving up the tying run on a play that, for once, was not your fault, before ceding the winning run on a base hit by Minnesota's worst hitter. I will remember the countless other times that you gave up 2 hits and a walk, or 2 walks, or any other combination thereof to make sure that there were at least two runners on base in seemingly every one of your appearances. I will remember how you said you felt like a monster whenever these runners reached base, prompting the Detroit media to attempt to make "The Monster" stick as a nickname for you. It never did. We preferred to call you The Roller Coaster. Finally, I will remember how you talked like a frog in the clubhouse. So thanks for the memories, Fernando. You were a better pitcher than I give you credit for, but I still hate you and look forward to watching the Angels pay you $5.5m a year to walk the bases loaded every eighth inning. Good luck, though.
