ucrossed, just ignore the ratings. I would be a little peeved too if somebody gave my Cubbies dynasty a 4 for "not pitching Prior enough" or something dumb like that, but the whole purpose of this site is just to have fun. If I were you, I'd just ignore it. That is a stupid reason for giving you a 4, btw.

I'm getting a little disturbed by the behavior of the whole ratings system myself. My original intent was to provide a means for motivating members to better their sites, as well as determine a formula for identifying the most popular sites to display in a "top 10" format on the front page.
Someone else here suggested an idea that I'm starting to warm up to - count the visits to each dynasty's home page, and use the total hit count to determine the "most visited"/"most popular" dynasties on DC. Then display that list and ditch the ratings.
The ratings system has become too much of a focus for some. I don't know what's worse - the bogus ratings or the dynasty owners getting way too upset about those bogus ratings.
(btw, ucrossed, I'm not singling out you, this is just a general observation about the DC community.)

I like the ratings myself because it does motavate me some to do better.
Gators brings up a good point about the hit counter, because who is on ne site more that the guy running it? I just don't like the idea in general but hey, whatever works best for everyone else.
Now I belive if this guy had a good reason to give ucrossed a four, then fine. That reason was terrible though, not playing a tough enough schedule. He's in the SEC, isn't that hard enough. Anyway, that's all I gotta say.

Well the counter is a good idea....but there would have to be a way to not count you going on your own site some how....cause everytime we would go on it, it would change...so if there was a way to implant a code so it wouldn't change when we visit and when other people do it would be worth while cause then people would just keep clicking on their sites so they could make the most visited site and all

i wish we could just have the comments on the dynasties. That is what i like about the site. Seeing what other people want to tell me about the site and how to improve it.
I do like the idea about the hits though. It does bring up the problem of people that will keep going to their site to be in the top 10. If we do have the counter, we would have to find a way to not count when the owner looks at it. I know i access mine site about 10 times a day to check out what i have, change some things, delete what i don't like, and just see if i have any comments to help me out.
this is not my 2 cents, but more my quarter.

Im not tryng to sound like im back talking or anything but I think you got the wrong impression. I stated a 4 for a legit reason ok ima work my a$$ of to get it fixed. but a 4 because i dont play Miami is simply retarded. Now i know theres nothing you can do about that, but it frusterates me that idiot like that guy can do such a thing. This has been a looong re-occuring problem here on DC. It always seems to be the newer people on the site top get premium accounts that think their tough and do that. Now i know that therese an alternate motive for the 4 and i wanna know why. Stephen i like ratings, and i voted to keep ratings but if we cant find a way to keep idiots from acting like a fool, then i see no other thing to do but get rid of them.
BTW i want to hear from OSUBeavs721

Well, first of all I think the most popular/ hits idea sounds like a good idea gone bad.
For Example, say my cousin UCrossed23 had the most popular site. I guarantee someone points out Leak2Troupe03 for continously visiting his cousin's site, and I would do that because i enjoy sticking with his dynasty and reading his recaps, stats, new stories, etc.
My 2 favorite ideas, if we are to change the system, would be either bring back the site's old dynasty showcase and have people vote for the site to be shown up. Maybe this site could be publicised for a week or a few days.
Another idea I enjoy is simply just having comments. Thats my 2 cents.
