(DeKalb) With what was another amazing game for the Huskies, with a 35 - 13 win over what was
a reather good WMU team until the second half. It was a close game in the first half with NIU
up 7 - 3 going into the second quarter but sorta took it away from the Broncos from there, by
scoring 14 points to their 7 to increase the Huskie lead to 21 - 10. The second half didn't
help the Broncos due to only scoring a field goal in the third quarter. 21 - 13 was as close
as WMU would get to NIU due to the Huskies scoring another 14 points in the fourth quarter and
sealing the game from there. <i>I was expecting a good game, as well as a close one due to
Western Michigan's record at the time. It's just our team was better and probably after beating
them and CMU, I believe we have a better chance at winning the MAC West now. Although having
to play Bowling Green next week whom is in second now and then Toledo in week 13 is going to be
our next challenge,</i> stated Thomas.
