What teams do you guys think are some teams that are just a season or two away from winning an NC?
I personally think that Alabama will make a strong running in the next two or three years. Especailly next season when most of our starters will return.
What teams are atop your list?

Florida. They've got a lot of good Freshman this season who are going to play a big part in a couple years along with the recruits they've already picked up and will pick up this year. 2008 should be their year with Tebow at the helm.

Nobody is really jumping out at me as a new "up and comer" so to speak. I think a team like Arizona could turn into a decent program over the next few years and maybe move towards a title. Nebraska I think is another team that could get their act together over the next few years and be very good. Florida is another who's actually on the cusp, but they always have a ton of talent down in Gainsville.
I would say Bama, but the recruiting classes have not been top notch, and I'm unsure about the coaching. Shula's done a good job, but this year will show if he has what it takes tog et a team into the BCS. 2007 and 2008 ought to be pretty good years for Alabama, but I'm not sure we're at that level just yet.

Penn St. Next year, if they can replace some key defensive graduates (I.E. Poz) than they can be a very good team.

I wouldn't worry about replacing Poz, we already have six other linebackers that'd probably start in any other 3-4 defense (Dan Connor, Sean Lee, Jim Shaw, John Shaw, Jerome Hayes, Navvaro Bowman). They don't call us "Linebacker U" for nothing.
I'd be more worried about replacing Tony Hunt. If we do medical redshirt Austin Scott, then we would have an option there, but Roddy Kinlaw doesn't make my roddy excited.

UCLA (2 years) When Ben Olson becomes a senior I believe that he will be one of the great players that College Gameday mentions every 5-6 seconds.

I'm really surprised Baylor hasn't been decent for awhile anyway, to be honest. They're only in the most talent-rich state in the country.

Yea but with teams like Texas, A&M, Tech, it's hard for them to get the goods...

Aren't their academic standards a little stricter too?
