That hook and lateral play should be voted for the pontiac game changing play. It was SO much better than any of the other ones. Do they pick the winner of the contest during the National Championship?

You see, this is the one thing I'm going to hate about that game, everyone gonna think Boise is the best thing since Jim Brown. They won a game using crazy playcalls, and did it after blowing an 18 point lead. C'mon guys, they played balls to the wall early and got a lead and then blew it. They made two amazing playcalls and got the win, but they have no business having a shot at the Buckeyes or Gators for that matter. They beat a good team, but I think 8 times out of ten that Oklahoma wins.
They're a very good team, but I don't think they deserve the hype even after that amazing game.

You're just bitter because Bama lost Kidding of course. Idk, I think it gives enough reason to argue for a playoff because you can make a case for them now. They beat a team that should have just one loss (the second is so not a loss) and while maybe you think it's sheer luck...we'll never know because there is no playoff. I think Boise State would really surprise people playing against big name teams if there were a playoff system implemented but I guess that might just be me. They went undefeated and defeated a top 10 team that had it not been for that bad call in the Oregon State game, for all we know they could be in the NC.

Dude, I'm always bitter when I'm wrong. You should know this by now. I think Boise could do very well in a playoff and actually kind of want to see it happen. I'm glad (now) that Boise won because it will put some pressure on for a legitimate playoff system. What I'm not liking though is the poll on ESPN asking "If Florida wins against OSU, who should be National Champion?" The options are Boise State, USC, and Florida. That's just dumb, if Florida can beat the best team are they not National Champs? Erm....I just hate when a great story like this gets hyped to the point of me hating that team.

I agree with Bama on the fact that Oklahoma would win 8 out of 10 times. Oklahoma is the better team. Boise would have no chance against Ohio State, Florida, or USC and/or Michigan for that matter. However, they played well when it counted and proved everyone wrong.
They deserve the win, so I wont be the one to tell them they got lucky. For one day, really one quarter, they outplayed the Oklahoma Sooners and won the bowl game. That's all that matters. If Oklahoma had leagues ahead of them, they would have never lost the game. That's got to say something for Boise State.

Boise would have no chance against Ohio State, Florida, or USC and/or Michigan for that matter. How can you say that? They smacked around Oregon St., who beat USC. Michigan got exposed as overrated against said USC. Oklahoma was a one loss team. You have no idea how the Broncos would fare against other one loss teams or Ohio St.

Correction: Oklahoma had 2 losses coming into last night.
I'd love to see BSU play the national champion.

Now let's talk about the Boise St. rankings after the bowls. Does anyone recall what Utah was ranked following their Fiesta Bowl win? 3rd? 4th?
Well, in my opinion, Boise St. should be ranked higher. Utah got to face a team in Pittsburgh that was unranked I believe, and came into the game with three losses. Boise St. got to face a team, that was in a down year, and admittingly unfocused, but was definately a lot more talented, maybe in the Florida, Ohio State, and USC category from their recent recruiting classes. Boise St. should be ranked at least in the Top 5, in my opinion.
I'm sorry if this sounds dumb, but I've been drugged all day on cough medicine.

Just my two cents, but talking about how BSU would match up against anyone else is secondary if you watched the game, not just saw the highlights. It was probably the most exciting finish I've ever seen in a football game and that Boise team is forever etched in my memory exactly as is.
Honestly, and anyone who saw it would probably agree, it's hard to describe the wild swing of emotions from 28-10 late third quarter to that final two point conversion play. Standing in your living room kind of stuff, even without a rooting interest.

Again, you have no way to know that. There aren't any connections between these teams to make, just speculation on "What if"

My Votes (a la David)
If OSU, and ND win:
1. Ohio State 2. Louisville (they are an assumed win here) 3. Florida 4. USC 5. Boise State
If UF and LSU win:
1. Florida 2. Ohio State 3. LSU 4. Louisville 5. USC
If OSU and LSU win:
1. Ohio State 2. LSU 3. Florida 4. Louisville 5. USC
If UF and ND win:
1. Florida 2. Ohio State 3. Louisville 4. USC 5. Boise State
Yeah, I'm not quite ready to give the MNC to a team from the WAC who played no one this year but Hawaii, Oregon State, and Oklahoma.
*Edit: Nothing solid, but you can't honestly think based on last night they would be able to beat Ohio State if they came out ready to play in an MNC game. The talent difference is too much, and considering it was a national championship atmosphere, both teams would be riding major emotion. OSU would win by a couple of scores, Boise doesn't have the talent. It's that simple.

I'm still not sold on the Big East. Though I don't think there is an ACC team worthy of being in the top 25. MAYBE GT without Ball would squeak in.

GT was the class of the ACC this year, if they had a decent guy at quarterback. Then again, Wake has looked mighty good tonight against a pretty good Louisville squad.
How the hell did Ball start for four years is what I'm wondering? I mean, you would think GT could get a decent QB in four years of recruiting.
