Guys - I need your input on whether to purchase a new console for next year. I don't play any other games than NCAA, but I may also get Madden at some point to do draft classes. I currently have an xbox.
If NCAA 08 comes out only on XBOX 360, do I need to get the premium version that has a hard drive? Your help is appreciated.

You could probably get away with the basic one and a memory card. The premium one is only like $100 more though, so if you have the money I would just go ahead and get that. Those memory cards aren't that cheap, so you'd probably only end up saving 50 bucks or so by not getting the premium one.

If you have the extra money, I'd get the premium one.
Other than that, the harddrive is just extra storage space. Does't matter since a 360 memory card is the equivalent of six PS2 memory cards in terms of storage space. I'm not sure on the Xbox.

I'd say no. I had like 6 games worth of stuff stored on my memory card (I chose the hard drive simply because I play different games). So you're probably fine with a memory card.

The premium is worth it even if you just play ncaa and madden.
Mainly - downloading updates is the big one. Some games now aren't patching/updating through online now where some are, but as we progress, almost all games are expected to do updates and patches to fix errors/flaws. There are enough games already on the 360 which do that on a regular basis. When I put in Madden for the first time a couple of weeks ago, the first thing it did was download some updates.
Personally, you also don't have to worry about corrupt memory cards, etc.
